Please read entire description before bidding.  Vehicle needs engine work.

What you are looking at here is a 2003 Bonneville SSEi that my mother purchased new from Superior Pontiac in 2003.  Since that time it has always been garaged, oil changed every 3k miles, has always had premium fuel, and has been detailed every year.  This vehicle has always been extremely well maintained.  The paint is original and looks near perfect.  The car has never seen the inside of a body shop.  Has never been in any type of collision.

The vehicle had an intake leak, and ran low on coolant, and overheated.  After this happened, my mother decided to purchase a new vehicle, and I jumped on the chance to buy this one.  I had the intake manifold re-sealed and the thermostat replaced.  Unfortunately, after this work was performed, the vehicle developed an engine knock on acceleration.  I took it in and had the oil pan removed for inspection.  Sure enough one of the bearings had been damaged (I assume by the excessive heat.)  At minimum, the vehicle will need a new or re-ground crankshaft and one connecting rod, possibly more.  There is currently no engine oil in the engine, and one of the rod baring caps was left off, so it does not run at this time.

I really hate to sell this car, but I don't have the funds to fix it at this time and don't want to let this beautiful car sit in the sun all summer.  I don't have room in the garage anymore so she has to go.  The front breaks were done just before the car was put out of commission.  The factory replacement battery is about one year old.  The tires are near new michelins with a ton of tread left.  The ABS light was on the last time I drove the car.  I did not have it diagnosed.

As you can see in the pictures, the car is in spectacular condition in and out.  There is a small wear mark on the edge of the driver's seat.  It is not worn through the leather, just the color.  There are a few small marks around the cup holders from use.  There is no noticeable wear to the steering wheel or radio/hvac buttons.  There are some chips on the front bumper from road debris.  There is a light scuff mark on the rear bumper, and a few little scratches in front of one of the passenger side door handles.  All damage is pictured.  There is no visible wear to any of the carpets or SSEi factory mats.

The registration has been out since September so there will be a small fee attached.  Likely around $200 but Ill check and add it later.  The title is a clean ca title, in my name, in hand.

There is no damage to any glass whatsoever.  All of the power options (windows, seats, sunroof, locks,) work as they should.  The a/c and heat functions are auto and work great.

I have tried to describe this vehicle to the best of my ability.  Please ask any and all questions before bidding.  Contact me through here or  email me at caseyamack1@gmail.com.  If you email me your phone number I will call you to discuss the vehicle.  I would love to show the vehicle before the auction is over if you are local.  I honestly believe that if you see it first, your max bid will go up.  The car books for about $9K (fixed, obviously.)  Check it at kbb.com.

I have never shipped a vehicle before but if you would like to arrange it I will help out in any way I can.  If I think of any more information that may be helpful I will add it.  If you have questions please ask.

It should go without saying, but please don't bid unless you have the money and are absolutely sure you will purchase the vehicle.  I would like to receive payment within 48 hours of auction close.  I have a paypal account if you would like to use it.  Otherwise, cash is great.  I will accept a check but the vehicle will not be released until the funds clear.

Thanks for looking.  Happy bidding.

GM recalling another 1.3-million cars over power steering woes

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

When it rains, it pours. General Motors has announced yet another major recall, covering 1.3 million units in the American market over concerns that the power steering could suddenly fail. As reported by The Detroit News' David Shepardson, GM has now recalled nearly ten times as many cars as it did all of last year.
It's important to note that should this problem arise in these cars, the steering won't fail completely, however, power steering could suddenly stop functioning. Manual steering would still be possible, but as GM says, there's an increased risk of accidents, particularly at lower speeds.
Like the ignition switch recall, this latest problem covers a wide range of vehicles from Chevrolet, Saturn and Pontiac. Normally, we'd give you the full rundown in paragraph form, but the variety of models and model years means a list is just easier. So, have a look, directly from GM's press release:

eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile

Sun, 29 Apr 2012

Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles.  The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
