2001 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE SE
ONLY 76054 MILES
I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCEMARCH OF 2005, IT HAD ABOUT 46,000 MILES ON IT WHEN WE BOUGHT IT. IT HAS BEEN OUR 4TH CAR AND NOT DRIVEN A LOT, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND THE BODY HAS NO DINGS OR DENTS. THIS BONNEVILLE IS IN GREAT SHAPE, INSIDE, OUTSIDE AND MECHANICLLY. I HAVE ALWAYS DONE THE MAINTENACE ON THE CAR AND ONLY USED MOBIL1 OIL. WE HAVE NEVER HAD ONE PROBLEM WITH IT. I PUT A NEW BATTERY IN IT A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND IT HAS A VERY NICE SET OF MICHELIN HYDRO EDGE TIRES ON IT.
THE PICTURES TELL THE STORY, IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE, SHOULD LAST A LONG TIMME. THESE 3800 ENGINES ARE KNOWN FOR GOING 200K WITHOUT A PROBLEM. IT GOT 29.7 MPG ON OUR LAST TRIP WITH IT. IT IS READY TO GO ANYWHERE, I WOULD TRUST IT TO DRIVE FROM COAST TO COAST TODAY!!! EVERYTHING ON THE CAR WORKS AS IT SHOULD. RUNS AND DRIVES NICE.
I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN A SMALL CONVERTIBLE IN TRADE, SUCH AS A BMW Z3 OR HONDA S2000, OR A MERCEDES SLK, I AM LOOKING FOR ONE FOR THE SUMMER. I LIVE ABOUT 50 MILES NW OF LOUISVILLE KY, ZIP 47469. PLEASE E-MAIL ME WITH QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.

GM recalling another 2.7 million vehicles in five separate campaigns
Thu, 15 May 2014The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles.
The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles - some of them the same models - but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago.
The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents.
How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.
Junkyard Gem: 1991 Pontiac 6000 LE
Sat, Dec 2 2017Sibling to the Chevrolet Celebrity and Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, the Pontiac 6000 sold pretty well during the early-to-middle 1980s, but had been relegated to the dealership bargain bin and fleet-car cul-de-sac by the time of Operation Desert Shield. Here's a final-year-of-manufacture 6000 LE that I photographed in an Arizona self-service wrecking yard. This car was sold new in Arizona, and it will be crushed in the same state, 26 years later. The LE was the cheapest trim level for the 6000 in 1991, but the original purchaser of this car sprang for a few options. For example, instead of the utterly miserable 2.5-liter Iron Duke four-cylinder, this car packs the 3.1-liter V6. That meant 140 horsepower instead of 110, plus an engine note more like a vacuum cleaner sucking up a spaghetti spill than an ailing blender chewing on walnuts. AM, FM, and cassette. Not only that, but the auto-reverse feature meant that your mixtape cassette wouldn't stop right in the middle of your favorite Roxette tune. This content is hosted by a third party. Even the wretched Daewoo-built Pontiac LeMans gets more screen time than the forgotten 6000 in this 1991 TV ad featuring the voice of Captain Picard.
