Supercharged Sports Luxury Sedan - Medium Red Metallic, original MSRP over $33K.
I've loved this car and wouldn't be selling it but the AC needs to be fixed and I just had a baby so I finally bit the bullet and bought a new car.
120K miles, probably has another 100K miles left in it with proper care. Runs beautifully! Gets great gas mileage for size/power - I averaged 30 MPG on a road trip to my brother's for Thanksgiving at about 70-80 MPH and typically get around 22/23 MPG for a general mix of stop and go/local highway travel. The EPA estimates are 17 city, 28 highway.
Yokohama AVID ENVigor tires put on in 2011, less than 24K miles ago, still in great shape and have a treadlife warranty of 5 years/60K miles. Also have lifetime road hazard warranty at local Watkins Tire & Auto on 41 at Port Charlotte/North Port border.
This is a comfortable, safe, luxurious car with features that were impressive for its time and still compare to most cars today!
Features:
3.8 Liter Supercharged V6
240 Horsepower
4 Speed Automatic
Daytime Running Lights
Fog Lights
Traction Control
Stabilitrak Control System
4-wheel Anti-lock Disc Brakes
Digital Heads Up Display (I think every car should have this!)
Electrochromic Rear-view Mirror w/available OnStar
Heated Power Exterior Mirrors
12-way Power Seats
Memory Driver Seat
Steering Wheel Mounted Controls
Oil Life Indicator
Tire Pressure Monitoring System
Power Locks, Windows, etc.
Remote Keyless Entry
Tilt-steering Column
8-speaker Audio System by Bose
CD player
Cruise Control
Leather
Sunroof
Built-in Air Compressor (comes in handy!)
Locking Gas Tank Door
Just changed the supercharger oil.
Had an oil change and tire rotation in the fall - with the oil life indicator I've usually only needed about 2 oil changes a year.
Calls for premium gas but I don't notice any difference in performance or gas mileage with mid-grade or regular.
I will include:
Air Compressor Kit with hose and attachments for filling tires, sports balls, floats, etc.
Supercharger Oil - 48 oz, enough for about 6 oil changes and they only need to be done about once a year.
Tools necessary for supercharger oil check/change (it's very easy).
Adapter for iPod
Premium Touch-up Repair Kit
Other misc.
As mentioned above, the AC isn't currently working (blows hot) - it might just need to be recharged with sealant, in the past that's worked and I also had an o-ring replaced and it blew ice cold for a year after that.
Other non-optimal issues:
Sunroof drains have tendency to clog/not drain properly and can leak into car if not kept up on.
Driver's seat leather is pretty torn up as shown in picture (only seat with damage), could be re-upholstered fairly inexpensively or use a seat cover or get a new seat from junkyard/online - I've just been using a cushion to cover it.
Light in clock/RSS doesn't always work properly - maybe needs a new fuse?
Slow oil leak, might need the valve gasket replaced eventually.
Area of paint near gas tank that a bird "went" on and even though I cleaned it off fairly quickly it has continued to degrade, visible in picture of driver's side of car.
I'm very honest and will fully disclose anything you want to know about the car, it's a great car but obviously not in perfect condition anymore at this age. I have the manual, all car records/receipts, and kept a log of all maintenance and other things done.

This KITT replica sold at auction for $32,500
Thu, Apr 23 2020UPDATE: This 1987 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am KITT replica officially sold for $32,500. Here's hoping the new owner has a blast throwin' it into Pursuit Mode. Let's get one thing straight right off the bat: This isn't a perfect KITT replica. The original KITT used in the Knight Rider TV series was based on a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The one you see above, which is currently for sale at auction site Bring A Trailer, is a 1987 model, and since it's a GTA edition, it has some extra body cladding that the smooth-sided television car lacked. That aside, most casual observers would probably never notice the difference, and even those who did (like us) are still likely to be impressed by the car's transformation. This KITT replica is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. It ought to be fairly quick, though quite a bit shy of the fictional car's very fictional 300-mph top speed. We're not exactly Knight Rider experts, but some quick Google sleuthing suggests that the Knight Industries Two Thousand supposedly cost more than $11,000,000 to build in Hollywoodland. This one will surely command a significantly lower sum — as of this writing, it's been bid up to $18,000 with four days remaining on the auction. This content is hosted by a third party. There are several videos of the car that detail its modifications inside and out, but suffice it to say it seems to be a well-sorted replica. Here's hoping its new owner keeps it well clear of other KARRs. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
700 horsepower Porsche GT2 RS is the wildest 911 ever
Fri, Jun 30 2017The Porsche 911 comes in a variety of flavors, each filling a certain taste for a certain customer. Sitting atop the range is the new 911 GT2 RS. In previous generations, the GT2 had a bit of a reputation as a widowmaker, a 911 with massive power that could snap and bite with the slightest agitation. Porsche says the new model has been civilized, but with 700 horsepower going to the rear wheels, we're sure it's going to be as mad as ever. Power comes from a highly massaged version of the 3.8-liter flat-six from the 911 Turbo S. The rear-mounted engine makes an outrageous 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Like we previously reported, the new car will use water injection to help keep things cool. The only transmission is Porsche's PDK. While enthusiasts may lament the loss of the manual, the RS models have always been about performance above all else. Simply put, the PDK is the better performance option. All that power translates to a 0-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. The engine makes 80 more horsepower than the previous model. That makes it the most powerful road-going 911 ever built. In fact, the 887 horsepower 918 Spyder is the only road-going Porsche that makes more power. The fact that Porsche trusts all of that power to go to the rear is both thrilling and terrifying at the same time. In order to manage traction, the GT2 RS gets a number of upgrades. Rear-wheel steering has become commonplace in the 911 lineup, so it's no surprise to see it here. Sticky tires with 265/35 ZR 20 section rubber at the front and 325/30 ZR 21 section rubber at the rear keep things planted. That comically large rear wing adds downforce, adding to stability. The car gets standard carbon ceramic brakes. While some people prefer traditional rotors for the street, like the PDK, this is all about performance. A number of intakes and outlets complement the rear wing and maximize aerodynamic efficiency. It's a bit of a surprise that with all the focus on downforce, the GT2 RS still manages to top out at 211 mph. The hood, front wings, wheel housing vents, door mirrors, side air intakes, parts of the rear end, and a number of interior components are all made from carbon fiber. The roof has been made of magnesium. If you want to drop any pretense of civility and comfort in the pursuit of speed, Porsche is offering a Weissach package that shaves off another 40 pounds from the already impressive wet weight of 3,241.
STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
