1961 Pontiac Bonneville 2 door "Bubbletop" coupe! Complete Car with 389 engine and 4 speed Auto trans. Bring a trailer or send a shipper. I will help load it up! This is a matching numbers 1961 PONTIAC Bonneville 2 Dr Bubbletop Coupe Legendary 389/303 4BBL engine and 4 Speed Hydramatic transmission. Exterior needs a good body man but the floors are solid. Even the trunk pan is about 80% good and repairable. The engine spins but the car is not currently running. Everything is still under the hood.. Vin and Engine numbers match.. The engine code is BB and trans is the 4 Speed Hydramatic. Most other parts are present except for the two hood eyebrow trim pieces, fender gunsights and a few other small pieces. The long stainless side pieces are here and so are the wide stainless mouldings. A few letters are missing. This car also has a very RARE power antenna and front/rear speaker switch.. Replace a few bulbs and fuses and I have no doubt the systems will fire back up. Radio works on front speaker but the rear hasn't come on yet. Might be a wire, might be the cone? This cool Bonneville Bubbletop needs total restoration including exterior metal work. Windshield cracked but other glass is OK. Nice door panels and the seat cushions appear to be fine. Seat covers could be fixed or used with a blanket over them for a while. NADA guide lists restored cars like this at $40,000. Here are beautiful examples of what this car could be:
Buy it Now!!! Get it running and it'll be worth $2000-$3000 more immediately. If this car does not sell this month I may part it out.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
Question of the Day: Most degraded car name?
Fri, May 27 2016When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. I say the downward spiral of the LeMans name was the most agonizing in automotive history. What do you think? Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
