Car is a blast to drive. Gets looks and compliments constantly. Roadrunner Hood with 440 Badge and functioning turn signals. Roadrunner rear quarters. Roadrunner Tail lights.  Very very fast. Estimated horsepower is north of 500. Not very good m.p.g. but hey, you can't have it both ways.  Not a daily driver, but a weekend cruiser or track car.  I only take it out on the weekends to play and do cruise-ins and car shows.  I've never taken it to the track. Scary Fast !  Tons of torque !  Hooks up and launches great !  Car is 100% SOLID.  Zero rust or rot.  No expense spared when building this car.  Looks, Runs and Sounds awesome. A custom fit car cover by California Car Covers is available for it for purchase as well.
There are a few very minor issues.  The dash lights flicker off and on from time to time. The passenger side door switch for the dome light is missing.  The drivers side switch is there and functions as it should. The heater is not hooked up.  I value honesty.  I will tell you and/or show you everything I can about this car. It can be viewed by appointment if you like.   You will not be disappointed.  Please serious inquiries only.  Test drives may be arranged, but I'm not going to let anyone take it out just to beat on it.     Vehicle is located in Inverness, Florida.   You will have to arrange pick up or delivery if you purchase the car.  I can possibly deliver the vehicle a reasonable distance for a fee. Winning bidder must contact me within 3 days of sale to arrange payment and pick-up or delivery.   Any questions, call me @ 352-249-8320.  Or e mail to bulldog0040@yahoo.com

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
