1968 Plymouth Satellite 440 Project Runs on 2040-cars

1968 Plymouth satellite currently has a 440 big block automatic transmission car runs good drives on its own was on the road a few years ago taken off the road to do paint and body work i did not build this car just going on what i was told has a bit of work done to the car surface rusting thru the primer has dual flowmaster exhaust has a gasket leak up front was told the front suspension was redone newer gas tank and sending unit has a set of gauges in it the dash cluster dose not work speedo lights etc never looked into why someone has bypassed the ignition has keys and a push button start that dosent seem great just need the ignition replaced car is a factory 383 big block car from the factory but currently has a later model 440 in it 8 3/4 rear under it gears unknown traction bars not sure if its posi i was told it was but i haven't tried it or jacked it up to check car dose have some rust but not to bad for a 68 it will need lowers bad patch job has some rust on the bottoms of the doors but i have replacement can be added to the price at the end if the new owner wants them little around the rear window corners not too bad yet car dose leak trunk pan is patchable not rusted out bad enough to replace i think but dose have holes thru. The frames and cross-member look solid fenders are decent to start with little on the bottoms of each fender p/s rocker looks ok d/s dose need work has a large dent gonna be a pain to striaghten out but im sure it can be done the inner fenders i think are the worse they where cut for headers cut big chunks out i have another pair of inner fenders out of a 70 road runner will go with the car but either way will be a project in itself to fix and repair hood has some rust starting next to the insert deck lid i think should be replaced trunk gutters aren't too bad but has some rust holes passengers side floor pan has a big hole can be patched drivers side just starting rears look OK glass is all there windshield is fogged pretty bad quarter glass good rear window isent to bad can be polished bumper are solid cores for re chroming grill and bezels look ok Interior needs to be totally redone door panels are there ok for a driver needs carpet headliner dashpads bench seat needs recover etc decent car that can be driven while you restore car needs to be gone thru before you put it on the road just to check it over needs tires etch car is sold as is dont have much else besides whats pictured if you have any questions or wnt to see more pics please let me know or if you want to see the car in person witch i encourage i know i have missed a few things on the car just message me here on ebay on anything you may want to know about the car remember this is a project car i do not encourage you to drive this car home until gone thru
car has an open title and is not signed to anyone just singed out of the sellers name i can put it in my name just never went to the dmv and did it final payment to be cash in hand within 7 days of auctions end and buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements on the car within a reasonable amount of time no 2 0r 3 months unless other arrangements are made i am trying to be fair and honest about the car i expected the same on the other end please no games thanks and good luck Brian |

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
