One of the nicest 1967 Plymouth Satellites you will ever find.  Beautifully restored from the ground up.  Absolutely a perfect, lazer straight body with super wet looking black paint.  The body on this car is incredible, no rust anywhere, rock solid floors and trunk.  Not even any surface rust or scale, as clean as you will find, all gaps are perfect.  Look closely at the photos, absolutely amazing car, the best of the best.  Bucket seats, console automatic with 727 transmission.  Engine is a 383 with Mopar Performance aluminum heads, 1.5 ratio Crane roller rockers, Edelbrock intake manifold and carb and a VERY agressive .509 lift Competition Cam, sounds amazing, has a nasty lope to it.  Electronic ignition, MSD, Mopar Performance, all the best parts were put on this car mechanically.  The 727 transmission has a 3,000 stall converter and shift kit.  The rebuilt 8 3/4 rear end has 3.55 posi gears.  Exhaust is headers with Flow Master mufflers that turn down at the rear end.  I do have new tail pipes that will accompany the car to the new owner to install if so desired.  Everything on this beautiful Satellite works, headlights, taillights, dash lights, gas gauge, heater, A/C, horn, dome lights, turn signals, fender mounted turn signals, radio, console lights, dome lights, wipers.  All new front suspension, shocks and brakes, car drives like new.  The interior is new Legendary correct black seat upholstery, carpet, headliner, dash  pad, door panels and floor mats.  Factory A/C car that was upgraded with a modern smaller compressor and accessories.  There is a modern Mopar brand radio in place of the orignal AM radio, but no modifications were made to the dash. All new weatherstripping, rechromed bumpers, all stainless trim was polished to show condition.   A correct 67 GTX gas cap was added for a more aggressive look.   All glass is perfect, crystal clear, no scratches and the windows roll up and down perfectly.   New brakes and brake lines including front disc brakes and power steering.   Brand new, period correct, Torq Thrust TTO 15" wheels with BF Goodrich Tires.  This car starts, idles, runs and drives incredible no disappointments here.  The spare tire is also a Torq Thrust TTO wheel that is brand new, exactly like the ones on the car. This is not a numbers matching car.  This is a car you will be proud to be sitting in your garage, cruising around with all the windows rolled down on a warm summer night or take it to a local car show.  It is a SHOW and GO car!  Without hearing this thing, I can't explain to you how nasty it sounds.  Car also runs cool, has no overheating issues and has full aftermarket tach and gauges to monitor the impressive engine.  You will not find a sharper, tighter, 67 Plymouth anywhere.  I encourage inspection of this great car anytime prior to the end of the auction.  I can also help set up affordable shipping at the new owner's expense.  Car has clear Colorado title in my posession, fender tag, owner's manual, dealer brochures and a ton of restoration receipts.  A $500 deposit thru Paypal is due within 48 hours.  I have many more photos and can take more if you would like.  Please email or call (719)289-8648 for more information or questions.  This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION!  Thanks for looking and good luck!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
