This is a show quality '69 Roadrunner powered by a professionally built 600 HP engine with Indy Racing Heads.  The car has beautiful paint with ultra high quality clear coat but the real highlight of this Roadrunner is its motor.  The power is amazing but at the same time it was so well built and designed that it is a car tame enough to drive around town if you'd like.  The engine starts right up and runs cool and smooth all day while you're out driving.  Interior looks great with very high quality restoration throughout.  It has aluminum fuel cell tank with baffles (located in trunk).  Great tires.  Transmission is a manual valve body automatic.  So that means you shift it manually through the gears.  The builders of this car did it this way to effectively handle the massive power of the engine.

This car has always been meticulously stored inside a heated and air conditioned garage as long as i've had it and even when the previous owner had it. This was a frame-on restoration of what was apparently a very clean high quality car because the under carriage looks equally impressive and everything is super straight all around.  No rust anywhere on it.

There are a few very minor items that did not get completely finished before the previous owner picked it up from the restoration shop.  These include, speedometer not hooked up, some of the dash gauges not hooked up/working, rear view mirror swivels loosely on its mounting arm, and driver's sun visor needing some minor re-stitching.

Otherwise, this car has what it takes to win some major shows.  I've taken into consideration these few items that need to be addressed and have priced it accordingly to sell for a VERY reasonable price.  It must be sold in this auction because I am building a new house and am simply out of room to store it.  This is why I've set the reserve much lower than the going market value for a car of this high of a caliber.

The pictures do not do it justice.  It looks even better in person where you can see and appreciate the meticulous quality of its restoration and of course the awesome sound and power of its high performance engine.  The performance of this car make it an absolute blast to drive.  Combine that with its relatively stock look and you have the best of both worlds.

The reserve is set for a fraction of what this car sold for at auction just a few years ago. I'm in the process of building a new house and have priced this to sell quickly. If not for this situation, I would send it to Barrett-Jackson in a few months where it would surely fetch a premium price.  In the meantime, it is available at an extraordinary value through this ebay auction.

It is located in Wall Township NJ.  Please email me if you'd like to schedule an appointment to see it.  Serious inquiries only please.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
