1970 roadrunner   !!  -- All matching numbers -- !!  Original Motor , Original trans , ( both rebuilt with receipts )  door VIN sticker , dash VIN tag , and title , radiator support , trunk lip , and 2 original broadcast sheets !! no  fender tag , but can easily get one, from the info on the broadcast sheet. It looks good  , runs great , needs mostly cleaning and details , and finish it up to your liking !    maybe you prefer a vinyl roof , or a blackout hood , or ? -- please call with any questions or if more pics are needed. inspection , and test ride during the auction is welcome  Must sell    call  Peter   434  548  4773    we are moving   Original 2-tone painted car ( per broadcast sheet ) with white painted roof and purple body. Factory Power steering ,pump leaking, and factory A/C , all there , not working , compressor free.  White bench seat interior is in very nice shape. replaced with legendary interiors , door panels , seat covers , headliner, carpet , and more. it needs new or redone seat belts , armrests/bases ,and the dash gauge bezel is cracked , all the gauges do work including the fuel. it has a new fuel tank and sending unit. the dash pad has a cover over it and i would replace it with the correct one even though it looks good. All metal was repaired nicely 4 or 5 years ago with pics included. It received Floors , quarters, trunk , extensions ,and any rustproofing or other repair it needed.  at that time the owner passed away and it ended up being given to the shop owner.  The next owner has had all the work since done , bringing it back to life. It has a nice original color , base coat - clear coat , paint job. I would rate the paint 7 or 8 out of 10 . this is a nice driver quality car , needing more to be nicer . Mechanically it is very good and it runs strong.  The tires , wheels and factory hubcaps are good.  It has new exhaust , suspension , brakes ,and lots more . It is very nice , and clean , and mostly  all new and correct underneath. It still needs lots of small things , and maybe some rally or road wheels , instead of the plain factory hubcaps.  It needs lots of cleaning and details overall. The following info is from a letter , from the last owner , that had all the work done.

The original motor was not bored out, it did not need it.  The original steel crank was polished and new bearings.  Original 9.5:1 pistons were re-rung. It has a set of closed chambered 413 heads on it, that were freshened up.  Inside it has high-volume oil pump, double roller timing chain and gears.  The cam is just above stock.  Edelbrock aluminum dual take in-take and carb.  Original exhaust manifolds and point ignition.  Holds good oil pressure and is #'s matching.  I think car runs well but previous owner said he doesn't like the carb. and would replace it.

The trans. is original #'s matching.  It has a shift kit in it, and shifts firmly and fine.

All gauges work but temp. reads wrong so he unhooked it.  Lights, wipers, roadrunner horn all work.  New u-joints, new trans. mount, original 8 3/4 rear, with 323 gears and open rear end.  Steering gear is new, steers well but pump is weak.  No jack or spare tire. A/C parts are all there but he didn't have time to work on it. Over 30k  in parts and labor has been spent on this car recently , and many receipts including ,  motor work , trans rebuild , and lots of new parts are included.

Original drum brakes, all the way around.  New wheel cylinders, lines, hardware, wagner shoes, hoses and master cylinder.  New shocks.  New gas tank, sending unit and fuel line.  Exhaust is stainless, with flowmasters.  It is nice but not 100% stock.

Car is for sale locally and has a clear title . Again , please call with any questions .  434-548-4773 ,  thanks Peter and Rebecca

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
