Real Barn Find 1969 Roadrunner, Air Grabber Hood, 383, Floor Shifter on 2040-cars

I came across this 1969 Roadrunner through a gentleman that passed away. This particular vehicle has been parked since 1985 in a wooden garage and had not seen daylight up until a few weeks ago when i pulled it out to be transported to my facility. I'll try to answer any questions that i can but i'm not a MOPAR guy and don't know a ton about these cars. The Body is fairly straight with rust here and there. The Air grabber hood appears complete with the exception of the air filter itself and in good shape. the trunk is rust free and straight. the passenger front fender will need to be replaced. The drivers fender is good, the rear quarter panels appear to be solid. the passenger front floor pan felt a little soft but drivers and the two rear seem solid. (although a thorough inspection was not done as i have left the carpet in place). The trunk pan has visible rust through as shown in pictures. The engine appears to have been changed out at some point to what i THINK is a 340. The rest of the drive trains all there and i assume is original. I threw a battery on it and the engine cranked over just fine, though i'd assume it would need a rebuilt top to bottom. All interior is accounted for but in poor condition. The car is available for preview any day before the auction closes 8am-5pm, just message me and we'll arrange a time. This is one of two 1969 road runners that i found and purchased from the same barn and i will give the winner first dibs on purchasing the second car which is also complete and numbers matching, though also in poor unrestored condition.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson.
