For auction on ebay is my original California 1970 Plymouth Road Runner.  The car has approximately 77k original miles and is documented on the title.  Please check out all the photos below.  The car is Lemon Twist yellow and looks awesome.  If you are looking to be different this is the car for you.  It is very striking and the color combo looks great. Please read everything below to see everything done to this car and help answer many of the questions you may have. The car still retains its original trunk floor.   I will break down each area to describe all the work done.  Car runs and drives great and just needs a new owner. Has build sheet and its fender tag. This is a post 70 Roadrunner which are a bit more rare then the hard top version.  This is also the most sought after year(1970) and collectible Roadrunner that was produced.  Please see below for details:

Body- Car has new paint job that was done 3 months ago.  Quarters, top, sail panels, floor boards, frame, rockers , etc, are all in excellent shape.   The car is very straight and looks great.  FY1 Lemon Twist yellow.  All trim, bumpers, door handles, grille , taillights, etc were removed prior to paint.  Engine bay and trunk also painted without engine installed, so it was done right.   Grille and taillights along with tail panel in very nice condition. Grille has no cracks or breaks.  New front and rear bumpers.  All stainless is original and in excellent shape. This car was stored for a very long and only recently brought back to life. Has nice original trim around the car. New hood pins as well. New decals throughout the car.  Dust trail stripe, hood black out and rear reflective stripe.  New Go wing spoiler with correct under deck lid bracks.

Interior-  All new interior including new carpet, seat covers, dash cap, package tray, trunk mat, headliner.  Original dash in nice shape.  Nice original door panels.  The car is a bucket seat/ Column shift car.  Someone was planning to change to a 4 spd and air grabber and they  put the reverse light and air grabber bezel on the interior trim next to the column.  Dash gauges were refaced along with a new circuit board.

Engine-  Has a rebuilt 440 HP engine.  All new exterior accessories for reliability purposes.  The engine has less than 1000 miles on it and runs great.  New distributor, carb, starter, etc.  Motor is a stock rebuild with mild cam.  Has new 2 1/2 full exhaust with tips out back. Motor is ready to drive and everything under the hood has been replaced.  Since everything was replaced the car has been driven about 20 miles.

Transmission- Fully rebuilt 727 automatic transmission with new torque converter.  Shifts as it should with correct kickdown linkage.

Driveshaft- new ujoints on both ends and speed balanced.

Exhaust- Brand new 2 1/2 exhaust with stock turbo mufflers and tips out the back.  Will post pics of exhaust during auction.

Wheels/Tires-  New 15" tires on color matched steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps

Electrical- Lights, turn signals, hazards , dome light, headlights , etc all work as they should.  Has new engine harness.  Has new wiper motor as well.  Light bulbs were replaced.  New turn signal switch, circuit board, rear tail light harness, etc

Misc.- Wiper washer bottle/pump and hoses are new.  New 26" radiator.  Glass all in good condition and windows roll up and down great.  Has new weatherstripping in trunk, doors and roof rail.

Brakes-  All new brakes on the car along with new hardware and new wheel cylinders.  New master cylinder as well. Has Drum brakes.

Suspension-  Suspension completely rebuilt 2 weeks a go.  New bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler, strut rod and sway bar links.  Suspension was bead blasted.

Rear end- Stock 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23 with new fluid

Overall as you can see a lot has been done to the car to get into the condition you see below.  The car has a ton of new parts and hundreds of hours going through this  Roadrunner.  The only thing not hooked up currently is the radio.  Radio turns on and works but needs speakers hooked up.  Its the stock AM radio.  Look around and try to find a 70 Roadrunner with this much work recently done for a fair price. Rare opportunity to own an affordable 70 Roadrunner with all the hard work done.  Get in and go!

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
