1973 PLYMOUTH ROAD RUNNER 400cid PISTOL GRIP 4-SPEED.  This thing is just a BEAUTIFUL car that turns heads everywhere it goes.  As stated it has a non-numbers matching 400 cu. in. big block with a pistol grip 4-speed and 7 1/4 limited slip rear that's a lot of fun to drive.  The motor was rebuilt about 7 years ago and the only variations from a stock rebuild is a Comp Cams 280 mag cam (Go check out the specs on line if you like, I've dropped this cam in several motors over the years just because of the lope) to give it the idle I like at a stop light, an aluminum dual-plane intake, Holly 800 Double Pumper and a set of headers.  The front end was completely rebuilt about 6 years ago and handles like it just rolled off the assembly line. The exhaust was professionally bent and installed ending just in front of the rear axle and bent down to "Sweep the street" when you take off, (I just love doing that, LOL). This car is not fast and hasn't been treated like it is, I'm not sure but I think the rear gears are around 273 but I could be a little off on that, you'll be able to cruise at 80 MPH at around 2800 - 2900 RPM and at my age that's what makes it fun.  I'm aware that I listed many things in the "Item Description" category that may make it sound like there's more wrong than right with this car but that's absolutely not the case, this is a real stunner of a car as seen in the pics and I just want you, the buyer, to be happy and have no surprises when you get it.  Shipping is going to be up to you take care of through the whole process.  A non-refundable 500.00 deposit is required immediately at the end of the auction and payment in FULL by cashiers check or bank draft before the car even leaves my garage, This is listed locally so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time.  Thank you so much for looking!!!

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
