1970 Plymouth Road Runner V-code 440+6 Hemi 4-speed Vitamin-c Sixpack Barn Find on 2040-cars
Southampton, New York, United States
Hello friends. For auction My 1970 RoadRunner. Let me start the story of this car from the beginning. Back in 1999 I had sold all my mopars do to a series of poor decisions. I went a few years then in 2002 I had the money and itch to get into a high option mopar again. I contacted a good friend who was known in the region to come across cars of this caliber. A few months later he called me with info on this sixpack Roadrunner. Soon after my brother and I headed up into the mountains with a trailer and pockets of cash. At the time this was the biggest single purchase I had made but I knew cars of this pedigree only come around a few times in a lifetime. The next fallowing few days My brother and I disassembled the interior and pulled out the build-sheets. We took the engine and transmission out and put the rolling car in storage. Months later my brother was killed on his motorcycle when a minivan came into his lane. I remember the excitement and laughs we had that weekend when we picked up the Roadrunner. We both had a passion for cars and spent most of our time talking about them and wrenching. When we were together there was no project to big for us, no task that couldn't be done on a late night in the garage. 10 years later the car sits the same as it did the weekend we brought it back. There's some rust from when it spent some time in the weather but other then that its the same as the day it was pulled from the barn in the mountains. Some details on the car. . 1970 Roadrunner 440+6, console 4speed, Dana, vitamin C, original everything, 2 build sheets, door tag, fender tag, last regi in 77'. All the best options, best color, best year, flawless pedigree. The one to have. Retired drag car, has altered quarter panels but original Dana was untouched. Doors and nose all original and in great condition. Will need full metal from doors back. The car was complete when I purchased it but I pulled the engine, seats, carpet out of it before it went into storage. I was storing the car in a less then secure barn and I didn’t want any of the irreplaceable components there heaven forbid someone broke in. By original everything I mean:
Unfortunately this is the busiest time of year for me. I will try to reply to questions promptly. If your a serious buyer its best to leave your phone number or detailed message. Fieldcombs@gmail.com Thanks for looking folks and best wishes. -Jarred
On Apr-16-14 at 16:19:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention. I could put the car on a trailer and deliver to spring Carlisle at no extra charge. This may help out some of you Midwest guys. The car would have to be paid in full before its loaded up. Thanks again |

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
