1968 PLYMOUTH ROADRUNNER - Complete FRESH Resto-Mod finished April 26th 2013.
Probably the NICEST BLACK paint job you'll ever see. Car just went through a 4 year resto-mod. Black paint job looks and feels like glass and is a show stopper at all car shows. Standing next to the car you can't even see the paint because it literally looks like dark glass. Took me 4 years to do this car. 3 and a half years were dedicated to body and paint. The entire back half of the car was re-bodied with all new metal from AMD. There is NOT one ounce of rust on this car. It was completely blasted and put on a rotisserie. The car was blocked with black primer 8 TIMES!! 2 coats of Dupont black and 4 coats of clear.
Comes with 2 engines. The original 383HP numbers matching engine and another 383HP that came out of another 68 Roadrunner. The original 4 speed transmission was lost or stolen during restoration so I put a 727 Torqueflight out of a 68 GTX in here.
All the interior is BRAND NEW from Legendary. All new complete wiring harness. Wilwood Power Disc Brakes on the front. Drums on the back with new boots.
TONS OF UPGRADES. Almost too much to list. This car has been 110% gone through and has ALL NEW PARTS or rebuilt original parts.
ALL NEW Power steering components with a FIRM FEEL Power Steering box. This car drives WAY better than my brand new Challenger.
Rhino lined the under carriage. Installed Dynamat under the interior and in the doors. All new rubber all the way around the car, 2 very expensive Kicker speakers in the back with a remote CD player up front with AUX hook up for an iPod.
Aluminum Champion radiator. This car is a BEAST and drives Excellent. I've only put MAYBE 70 miles on it since it was finished April 26th.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
