This Triple Black Prowler is 1 of 799 produced in this color in 1999 which will only add to its collectibility as the years go by.  We recently acquired this one from the 2nd owners who had it for close to 7 years and only put 1000 miles on it. They pampered it and only drove it on sunny days. This Prowler has never seen winter or harsh road conditions. It started life in Colorado and then went to Florida with the second owners before ending up in Arkansas when they moved.  As you will see in the pictures it is in amazing condition inside and out and drives beautifully. We have had several Prowlers and they really are a blast to drive and certainly draw all the thumb up and looks and attention you could want on the road and at the shows. We have all of the original documentation including the original window sticker and a good bit of the service history. With only 15,300 miles on it this is definitely one you do not want to miss out on!

The body and paint on this Prowler are in amazing condition. In fact it was hard to photograph because of all the glistening and glare off the paint. Rest assured any white spots you see in the pics are just a result of the sun reflecting off the paint. There are only a couple of really tiny rock chips down low along the body that I noticed and one small chip that was touched up on one front fender. Otherwise the body is basically flawless! Here is a walk around tour of the body:

You should drive this Prowler top down as often as possible but there is no doubt that these look equally as awesome with the top up when needed. The top is in great condition with no issues. Have a look:

Moving on to the plush black leather interior you will again find it to be in fantastic condition with almost no wear to the leather seating.  The bucket seats are very comfortable in these cars if you decide to go on a long cruise. The drivers side seat bolster looks excellent with none of the typical wear and the passengers seat looks like it was barely sat in.  The clean gauge layout of the dash is accented in Black with a steering mounted tach.  Great sound from the 7 speaker AMFM/Cassette with 6 cd changer mounted behind the passenger seat.  Ice cold A/C at your fingertips if needed. Power windows work great and the window regulators were replaced which is a common problem! Again, this is basically a modern hot rod so all of the comfort features of a modern car are tucked inside this baby including of course airbags. Here is a peek inside:

The power plant of the Prowler is a 3.5 Liter High-Ouput SOHC Aluminum V-6. Is it the fastest car on the road? No, but don't be fooled. With 253hp at 6400 rpm and 255 ft.lb of torque at 3950 rpm it will get most peoples attention. While all Prowlers are Automatics, if you want to add a little fun factor when driving put it in Auto-stick mode and shift up and down through the gears. Power rack and pinion steering and 4 wheel vented disc brakes make driving this baby easy and fun. Independent front and rear stabilizer bars and front/rear coil over shocks make handling a dream and this Prowler handles like it is on rails.  Lets not forget the awesome stance from the 20" rears and 17" front wheels. The Chrome Wheels really help set it off and these are in near perfect condition with just one minor rub on one wheel. Tires have tons of tread life left. With just 15,301 pampered, well maintained miles this Prowler has really just been broken in.  We also have great maintenance records as well as all of the original manuals and original window sticker. This Prowler is also equipped with LO-Jack Auto Security in case someone tries to take your baby. We are also including a custom fitted car cover in carrying bag to the next lucky owner! Have a look under the hood and be sure to listen to the video of this Prowler starting up and running:

Bottom line is that this Triple Black Prowler is in awesome condition and is truly one of the few American automobiles of its time that can be considered a collectible.  Perhaps even better is that it can definitely be driven and enjoyed while it maintains its investment potential.  I have owned a wide variety of muscle cars and specialty vehicles and I usually find that true Car enthusiasts own Prowlers. US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
