For sale is a documented factory original 1964 Plymouth Savoy 426 super stock stage III max wedge car. It was also factory optioned with the lightweight aluminum front end package. According to the book The Complete Guide to the 1964 Plymouth Super Stock, which is licensed by Chrysler, this car is 1 of 29 automatic lightweights produced. Its the 9th one on the list with a shipped date of november 29 1963. It was delivered new to Thompson-Todd Chrysler Plymouth in Detroit. Its the only lightweight with the XXX code Light Biege paint with Tan/fawn interior. The body of this car is exceptional with a clearly visable radiator support shipping order number and the rear package tray number still has the original paint. The fender/trim tag is the original one and its nice still retaining the factory original paint on the back side. The serial number/vin tag is the original one and in good condition. There is a clear and clean title in my name, copy of the factory punch card from Chrysler Historical and a detailed breakdown/decode of the punch card /trim tag.....see pics. As I just mentioned the body of this car is exceptional, considering the modifications many went through over the years of racing. The paint is the correct XXX code and is very nice with the bottom of the car painted in the correct color primer. This unibody still has every original body panel, all the original floors and original quarter panels except for repaired fenderwell header holes.....just the back half of the inner fender and the inner half of rear wheel wells. There is still visable evidence of the cars drag history...you can see from the bottom of the trunk floor where there was a fuel tank in the trunk, there are some old frame ties and the rear wheelwell lips are flat for tire clearance. This is a rust free body that has never been hit or crashed. As the car is pictured it has a steel front end on it now....but It comes with a 64 aluminum hood that needs repair....a portion was removed and needs to be welded back in. There is a nice original 64 aluminum scoop, an original aluminum fender separator/upper grille support, an original aluminum lower grille support...needs repair and a dipped lightweight bumper that needs a rechrome. There are no aluminum fenders. This car needs to be finished and comes with a 1964 50/50 bench seat and rear seat that need recovering. A set of door panel cores that need recovering. A 1964 crossram and 3705 carbs that need rebuilding. An original H-pipe that needs repair. A pair of correct bare 1964 stage III "518" heads that need guides and valve job. A pair of correct 1964 six bolt valve covers. A correct set of motor mounts. I will supply other misc.small parts to help assembly at my discretion. The front suspension and steering is fresh and painted. The car has older replacement super stock leaf springs. . The car has original unrestored trim that is decent but does have its misc. scratches and wear here and there. The stock thickness front bumper has been rechromed. The wheels are used vintage cragar s/s with black painted centers, 15x4,4 1/2 single bc fronts and 15x7 uni rear. The slicks are vintage 10.00 x15 M&H dragmasters that are rough...but still look cool. There is a stock steel hood and hinges also. The car is sold as you see in the pictures with all parts listed in the description. This is a rare car with a rare color that looks great and has survived incredibly well. Please contact me for more info. Thanks

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
