I am listing this beautiful numbers matching 69 GTX for its third private owner who has decided to part with it. The car was sold new at Ray Sheperd Motors in Fort Scott Kansas. It has had three adult owners since new. It has 71,00 original miles. The body retains all of its original panels, straight and damage free since new. The car has had one professional repaint in its original color. There is one small crack in the paint on top of the right front fender in front of the windshield and some very light chips by the rear tailights that are barely visible. There was one small 2in by 2in rust repair done down low on the drivers side quarter in front of the wheel opening where water leaking at the rear quarter window had allowed water to settle. It was cut out and repaired with new metal. There is no rust or rot anywhere else on the car. The exterior chrome has been replated and is beautiful and damage free. The motor is the original #s matching 375hp 440 which was completely and professionally rebuilt. There have been no modifications done to the motor except for a Direct Connection electronic ignition conversion and a set of chrome valve covers. It retains all of its original components including the Carter AVS 4 barrel carb. It runs smooth and strong and sounds like a Mopar should. The original 3 spd column shifted automatic trans is smooth and tight and works perfectly. The rear end is the original 8-3/4 with 3:55 gears.. The brakes are manual drum and work pefectly. The undercarriage is clean and original .  The car currently has new Dayton Daytona radial tires mounted on aluminum American racing rims. The factory rally wheels with redline tires are also included with the car. Inside the dash is original, uncut and nice.  Original radio works and it has an fm radio mounted under the dash and a cd player and power booster mounted in the trunk.  It also has a high end Python theft security system installed. The current owner had the original seats and door panels redone in two tone 100% leather and had a new headliner installed. The carpet looks like new,       I have tried to describe the car the best I can but am sure I left something out so feel free to ask for additional info or if you would like to speak to the owner directly just ask and I will provide his contact information. All in all this is a very nice GTX that has been cherished by all of its previous owners and can be driven or shown anywhere with confidence. Thanks for looking.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
