1966 Plymouth Fury Iii Convertable Big Block Four Speed on 2040-cars
Trenton, New Jersey, United States
Ok, Here offered is my two year project. Everything I've done or had done was with intention of keeping the car and done with quality parts and done right. I now have well over 27k into this car and car is I'd say over 90% finished with all mechanics done and car running better faster more efficient and safer than ever when new can be driven anywhere any time. Car is parked safely in my garage and should car not sell I will have the little still needed finished with intentions of keeping the car and entering in shows beings very few around espc on east coast in a convertible which Is why I liked and bought the car. To begin with this car started its life per a detailed report I had done by the well known Mopar expert Galeen Mopar who is well known to mopar fans and Barret Jackson are mopars listed. As a : 66 fury 111 convert power top factory a.c. car with a 318 LA poly motor automatic bench seat with single exhaust in the same yellow it is now. That year there was around 2200 fury III converts made. There was less than 1500 with factory a.c. in convert and a v8 With my color and options less than 400 made. My car is number 1 of 1 as sold left in USA if put back 100% to original status but that was never my plan. The car has 36k original miles on car itself and I am I believe the 5th owner. What I can tell you is the owner prior to me owned the car over 15 years always garaged and driven less than 500 miles during that time. He is a friend of mine I bugged to buy the car from for 10 plus years he finally gave in 2 years ago and I paid 15k before I started all the work I've done since this owner did little to the car other than have the seats recovered as you see now and some new tires and rims and carb which I've since removed. still had the 318 poly and he changed auto column shift to the current 4 speed which has since been rebuilt after I bought the car. He had bought the car off of a friend of his who owned the car for 8 years and who also kept the car garaged as well and car had the 318 still intact but block had a bad valve and he had bought the car with intention of restoring and had car repainted for one and only time it has been in 1991 and did very little else including driving the car less than a few thousand miles during that time and having the bad valve issue resolved. I have clear title with listed miles at 36,000 as car has not a duplicate not salvage clear normal title I also have protecto plate and original owners manual and complete jack in trunk.
Now what's been done since I bought the car 2 years ago: new top 2 years ago door panels replaced 2 years ago all dash bezels re chrome vacuum plated 1 year ago re chromed arm rest bases in front 1 year ago new convertible top boot this year new wood steering wheel this year got heater and defrost and all factory gauges working this year besides clock and radio probably easy fix still has both original in dash carpet has not been replaced but looks ok to make interior 100% done I intended on replacing carpet at some poin but never did seats all look great no issues all factory ac components still on dash as they came uncut un molested dash face as far as frame no rot rust or repair ever has never been repaired that I see anywhere very htf trunk solid no known repairs rare for east coast mopar convert floors solid no known repairs also rare for a 66 mopar espc convert on east coast chrome nos rear trunk chrome and lens cost me 1700 very hard to find nos hood ornament nos door handles nice drivers quality bumpers all moldings in good shape nos chrome wiper arms and chrome blades nos trunk emblem and grill emblem grill nice original only trim missing is both front fender eyebrow moldings body pretty straight 1 repaint same color some bubbles in rear quarters but not much hidden and no holes considering 20 plus year old paint job and car still shows well. suspension new springs in rear this year new shocks 1 year ago front end tight aligned and drives straight as she should no issues tires brand new bfg raised white letters including matched spare all this year rims all brand ne3w custom made by billet custom specialty rims all aluminum 1 piece including 5th wheel matched spare tires rims caps lugs over 2500.oo all new air components still all on dash I have the original small block under hood parts in boxes which are included engine rebuilt 440 high performance aprox 450 horse power nicely detailed 2 years ago new chrome 1 wire alternator this year new wires to starter and alternator this year new mini high crank starter this year new mopar electronic distributor and module conversion done this year new voltage regulator and coli this year new wires hi performance and looms this year as well as bosh plugs new 750 edelbrock this year restored intake and exhaust manifold this year new high flow chrome water pump this year new b cool 3 core aluminum radiator with dual electric fans no more clutch fan this year cost 1,000.00 dual exhaust installed 2 years ago new sbc custom made disc brakes installed this year new mini brake booster this year new master cyld this year new adjustable proportion valve this year rear brakes totally rebuilt this year shoes calipers springs ect... stainless lines installed for front this year. new wiper washer pump motor and resevior this year. 4 speed was rebuilt including clutch fly wheel and z bar and some linkage this year im sure there is many things I missed but you can view the many photos or ask any questions you may have or have car inspected prior to bidding not after. I have tried to be as honest and open as I can in this listing and my feedback speaks for itself. car runs smooth quick sounds great and way better than these came new from the factory. was driven over 2 hours straight with new cooling system never went above 170 degrees even in stand still traffic. Brakes like a new car no drift or bounce no smoke or engine noises or leaks or problems drives straight and tight. you will love this rare car should you buy. All sales final no excuses or buyers remorse if you don't have the money please do not bid on my car. My car was listed prior with highest offers 2 of them at 20k which I turned down since that time I have spent another 2k on this car so my bottom line is $23,000.00 thousand or car stays and get finished this winter to be ready for fall shows. You or I could not build a mopar convert with all this car has done for anywhere near what im selling for with no frame floor issues and so much being brand new. DONT MISS LAST CHANCE THAT THIS CAR IS OFFERED FOR SALE. :) Jim I am on Facebook under James MacMillan Ewing nj or you may call me at 8 five 6 two 1 three 88seven nine with questions or to inspect or drive prior to bidding.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
