Up for auction is my 1964 Plymouth Fury Convertible restoration project. It is a running, driving car, though it would be wise to go through the brakes, ball joints, wheel bearings, etc. before taking it out in traffic. It has a poly (semi - hemi) 318 and a push button automatic trans. The car moves around the yard and down the street fine but has not been taken on the highway or on any lengthy ride yet so its roadworthiness is unknown.
This is a restoration project so ask a lot of questions, I'm happy to answer. Most of the hard work has been done already. Looks like someone already put floor pans in it, with screws, so those should probably be welded down. The trunk is in decent shape, just a few small holes, could be patched without putting in a whole pan. It looks like the car had been hit in the passenger rear quarter as someone grafted in a quarter panel section. It was hung crooked so I cut it off, straightened it and welded it back on. The frame and torque boxes are all good. There were also several poor rust repairs done using all manner of household material as a base for fiberglass and filler. I cut all that out, made metal patches and welded them up. The car is now in 2 coats of Eastwood urethane primer. I was going to paint it a semi gloss black but I figured the new owner may want to pick their own color. The car will need some more shaping and block sanding to really be ready for a gloss paint, and definitely if you were going the gloss black route. It looks plain mean in semi gloss though ;)
The car was originally gloss black with a red interior. The interior needs to be completely redone. The top needs to be replaced. The tires need to be replaced and the exhaust needs to be replaced. I have all the trim for the car. Some of it is in great shape, most of it needs to be redone for a show appearance. The glass is all good. The windshield is out of the car (but is included) to make bodywork and paint easier and I have a new windshield gasket that will also go with the car. I have some extra parts that will go with the car, including a rare 4bbl intake. The engine appears to be unrebuilt and runs good. Those are the high points, if you need more detail please let me know.
This is a very cool car and would be a nice muscle cruiser when completed. I do not want to sell her but I could use the money to finish other projects. NADA values this car as follows:

I am offering this at a low reserve, the 1964 model is very desirable especially as a convertible and since there is still some work left to do on her, the reserve reflects that. If she doesn't make reserve I'll just keep the car, finish it and drive it :) I have plenty of before and after pics so just let me know what you want to see. If a picture I have is unsatisfactory, I'll take one how ever you like. But, please don't wait until there's an hour left on the auction to ask for more pictures. This is a restoration project that you are bidding on without being able to 'touch' it so I expect you will want several pictures to help you decide. I will provide whatever I can to help you decide. I have a clear title in my name. The car is located in northwest AZ so come on by in person if you can. You will need to trailer or shipper to pickup the car. 'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
