PLEASE READ COMPLETLY--- Here we have a 1975 Plymouth Duster that has been in my neighbors garage for the last 27 years. He is the second registered owner, CLEAN title, never been wrecked or in a "fender bender", It was repainted about 11 years back in the original color with a twist. They added a bit of small gold sparke to the paint so car really pops in the sunlight. The paint clear coat is peeling under both driver and passanger window slightly, and the vinyl top is completly shot and ready to replace. My neighbor ran a 225 slant six in it for a bit (stock motor) then upgraded it right after high school 20 years ago to a 318, and when it was resprayed he went with a 360. When gas got up there in price a few years back he parked it and I recently aquired it and have put in a little work brightening it up. I just had the capet replacd as it was a terrible green and had a few rips.(floor pan is solid, and TWO build sheets were still under the rear seat.) The front bench needs to be re-upholstered also. (local quote on reupholster is 250. they just cant get to it untill jan) The roof liner is in decent condition until you get to the edges, as you can see they have some waving in the bottoms and corners. All the glass is in great condition. The dash board all works except the bulb behind the speedometer just burned out and needs replaced. The dash pad has two tears, one in each corner. The motor is a 360 v8-2 barrell carb,(missing air cleaner) headers, disk brake conversion in front of vehicle, new glass pack exaust, new hardened driveline, 727 torque flight automatic transmission, heater and air conditioning units function perfectly.(a/c needs recharge). There is a cd player in the dash bord that light up but I have not located a single speaker yet.In the trunk we have the original bumper jack in working order,(tested on lifting the car, all 4 points) No spare tire, worn set of 1980s ultra wheels. thrashed tires. With the new exaust we had put in this car sounds incredible, With a few more mods and upgrades this car will be a powerfull driver. I have not gotten around to a basic tune up or tranny service yet, just freshened up and running. PERFECT FATHER SON CHRISTMAS PROJECT OR GIFT TO THE GEARHEAD IN YOUR LIFE. Please feel free to ask any and all questions. |

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
