3 DAY AUCTION AT NO RESERVE - SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER

This is an Original 1974 Plymouth Duster in "Survivor" condition.

It was found sitting in a garage, collecting cobwebs. Spent it's entire life in Southern California with it's original Blue plates. Only owned by 2 owners since new. The second owner mention to me that he purchased the Duster in the local newspaper around 1983. The original owner worked at the TRW & passed away, the widow was selling it at the time out in Torrance, Calif. It was his driver up until the 90's, then it was barley used mostly to sit in the garage. Both owner's kept it stock as possible, never to been restored or taken apart. The second owner added the dog dish mopar wheels but kept the original wheel covers/rings. It never sat for a long period of time without being driven for a few days (Very smart thinking).

Factory 318 V8 "G" Code - Automatic - Air Conditioning - Power Steering - Power Brakes - Spilt Bench Seat

Beautiful color combination, Green with a Black vinyl top with white interior. Appears never to have been painted but the fender is a little brighter color (no signs of respray). The 2nd owner mention he has never had it painted or taken it apart. Very solid body panels, making it a excellent example of a California Mopar. Undercarriage is in beautiful shape and very solid. Straight clean panels with no patch panels or damage. Vinyl top is original but has a few bubbles near the top, noting major. Trunk is all original including the rubber mat & tool kit. Never been painted inside the trunk, so it does have it's common surface rust from the mat.The interior is 100% bone stock, never taken out of the car. The dash remains uncut with the factory radio & steering wheel. Missing only one emblem, passenger side Duster. The grill is in beautiful shape as well.

The original 318 is in running & driving condition. All stock down to the carburetor & air cleaner.Brakes, shifts just fine for never to been rebuilt. I would give it a tune up to be a daily driver but it runs fine. All the original Mopar decals remain under the hood. The owner mention the 85k mileage it shows are original with no documentation. I was driving it the other day & the cable for the Speed/odometer cluster stop working. The fuel gauge does not work as well. Should be a simple weekend fix.

Overall, a excellent candidate for a restoration or drive it around in it's current condition. There only original once. I do have a Clear California title & new 2014 registration sticker.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
