For sale 1971 PlymouthDuster.

Believed to be anumbers matching car but you will have to be the judge of that, what I’m sayingis to the best of my knowledge it is original. It has a 318 auto, 2 barrelcarb, with 904 Trans; approx.  92,000 miles;very basic car was a radio delete car and still has factory cover plate indash. The body is in very good condition I took it to two body shops they both said they thought that all the body panels were original. Someone before me did a weak paint job on the car and it is twenty footer as they say, but as you can see it is respectable looking. Someone before me also did some work on thef loor panel driver’s side and there are some small holes in spare tire area.  To the best of my knowledge this is an Alabama, survivor car never seen salt or rust like the ones from the Midwest. I have always kept it garaged. I have had the brakes completely redone drumbrakes front & rear. Has a very good set of tires on it, new shocks, runswell and is an every day driver for me, could use a rebuild on the carb, but starts and go's good.  I can not get the front right or rear left turn signals to work as of yet, but other than that it is very road ready.Heater & defroster work and I put a new radiator in it. Gas & Alt gauge works, I put in an after market temp gauge, the car runs very cool no matter what the temp out side is. Interior seats were redone at some point before I got it and are in very good condition.  Head liner, dash pad are weak but ok, I bought this car more for the nostalgic love of the breed than any other reason and was going to restore it but have other projects and want to move it.  I have the build sheet . This car is sold with bill of sale only, as the state of Alabama does not issue titles for pre 1974 model vehical. This Duster is a good one, and worth every penny, a small block Mopar lovers dream. I would rather you come and see the car in person, but understand if you can not. Call me with any questions, 205-914-0195. I will tell all that I know and give you an honest detailed discription, I'm not a dealer just a car guy with nothing to hide, it is what it is, not perfect, but a very good start for someone. I have the reserve set at a very resonable price and the car is for sale locally so auction may end at any time.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
