1969 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA CONVERTIBLE

HO HO HO, Christmas came early this year! Look what I found hiding in a barn for over 30 years. Well, to be totally accurate, it’s been in a heated storage building since 1980, so stored inside for 34 years! This is truly the HOLY GRAIL of barn finds, an un-restored, un-molested 1969 Plymouth Barracuda convertible in A-MAY-ZING condition!

Here is the story. In 1980 the owner of this car died, so his mother put the car in storage and there it sat until today. This beautiful car has all of its original equipment, a V8-318ci, automatic floor shift; center console, factory floor & trunk pans solid with no patches. (Watch the video of me stomping on the floor, NO RUST AT ALL!)  Factory rockers never altered or repaired.  No trim missing.  Has factory rim/tire spare. O, did I mention that it’s a convertible: and the top is in MINT condition and works perfect!

We flushed the gas tank and all the fluids, put in new gas and she fired right up and purrs like a kitten! (Watch the video and hear her run, she only needs a muffler, exhaust manifolds have NO LEAKS) All power units are operational as expected (Steering/brakes/top).  Does not blow oil, smoke, or overheat.  Battery does not drain when sitting (which means there are no wiring shorts).  Lights, wipers, horn, & gauges all seem to work. (Is missing a few marker light covers) Also had it completely tuned up with new brakes, so she drives straight as a string and stops on a dime without pulling right or left! This beauty is just plain BAD AZZ!!!

I don’t believe you will find a complete, ALL original Barracuda convertible in this condition ANYWHERE! This is a true survivor, un-molested barn find and truly a one of a kind find!

This old Cuda still turns heads just like it did in 69!

I’d like to point out: Notice how clean the engine firewall & surround panels is! I barely wiped them down: PERFECT SHAPE!

No plaster face lift here. The Inner factory rockers have NO weakness/holes: And neither does the factory weld seams.

If you have EVER thought of owning an unmolested, TRUE MUSCLE CAR CONVERTIBLE, that has not been robbed of parts or plastered together to look good at 50 feet; THEN THIS IS IT!

Goggle this car and you will find prices that range from un-restored around $15-$20,000 and ones that have been totally restored going for over $50,000 and up. (check out the blue and black ones I put in the listing, valued at nearly $75,000 each!!!)

Nothing like feeling the wind in your hair while cruising in your Cuda!

I have started the bidding low, with a NO RESERVE, this car will sell. I do have a BUY IT NOW price that I will ONLY discuss by phone, so if you are ready to own this amazing piece of muscle car history, call me today before someone beats you to it! Don’t let someone else drive around with the top down in YOUR dream car! Call 815-904-944 seven

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
