1974 Plymouth Barracuda Base 340ci on 2040-cars
Osceola, Indiana, United States
For Sale, 1974 Plymouth Barracuda Resto Mod. Very nice condition , driver quality, painted a 2008 Chrysler intimidator yellow, BC/CC. This Cuda started out life as a red, 318 automatic but was color changed and a slightly built 340 added. The guy I purchased the car from owns an auto body shop and did the work himself. They did a nice job on the color change and the paint looks very good with a small amount of orange peel in places. The car was lowered as you can see and it gives it a Gangster look. It wasn't welded in place so if you don't like the look you can take out the blocks and lift it back up. It has a very large Stahl converter(5500 is what they told me)and a 904 trans that was rebuilt before I got it. Nice rims and tires and the interior is in excellent shape with a very tiny split in the drivers seat. Has the Rally dash with no cracks but the clock and the tach doesn't work as they didn't hook it back up after the motor change. If I were to keep her, Id pull the automatic on the column and put a 4 speed in her. either straight on the floor or add a counsel and put it in there. The bumpers had the bumperettes removed and were painted to match the body. All lights work and shes pretty loud with the short pipes coming off the mufflers. There is no rust on the car as the one small section where there was rust was cut out and metal added. According to the former owner this was a barn find and it took em awhile to rebuild her to drive...NOT to be a trailer queen. The trunk is very clean as well with no rust . I couldn't get very good pictures from underneath as she sits so low but its very clean with no problems to note. There is an electric fuel pump on her as well as an electric cooling fan. They are getting harder and harder to find without spending huge money so get it now while the price is reasonable. There is no warranty and I will not ship it as that is your responsibility. The car will not be released until all funds are received. You are welcome to inspect it before the auction ends. Sorry no trades and no foreign buyers. Any questions please ask and Ill try to get to the as fast as a working man can. In case youre wondering, Im selling as my job situation changed and I have no time to play with her, someone else can have a blast with her.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
