The story with this car, I bought it site unseen to do a 6 cyl or Hemi conversion out of it.  I just wanted to do something different than what everybody else has.

Now for the ad:  I do not know a whole lot on this car, what I do know is the car had a trunk pan put in it, driver side floor pan was replaced, passenger side front floor pan had a few patches put in, It was converted to column shift car (I do have the brackets that they gave me to weld back onto the floor & the other steering column), I do have shifter but no linkage that is why they converted to column shift. Car does have good headliner, all door panels & back panels are nice, backseat is there but will need to be recovered, I do have a set of bucket for it but will need new pads and covers, it will need a carpet, & windshield.  The car does have some bondo in it but how much, I do not know.  It shows a little at the bottom the quarters but does not show in pics.

Now the for good:  The car has a NEW YearOne grille put in it, front & back bumpers are new, the lower front turn signal valiance is new, new gas tank (no sending unit in it), this is an A/C car most of it is there except the front condenser and a couple lines.

I was told that the 340 in was rebuilt but I am not going to guarantee to anyone.  We did have it running.  They had it wired up with an old points distributor.  At this current time, we got the electronic engine wiring but no distributor.  You will need to get a distributor and an ignition box.  It had a 904 trans and a big 9 1/4 rear, the brakes were gone through and do work. The tops of the front fenders were painted black and the rest of the paint is usable but not the best.  Other than that, I really do not know much more.  I want to be honest with everybody, I am not going to list something that I do not know much about or try to explain.

This is a Barrecuda starter car, it is the same car as a CUDA. You will need to finish putting it together. I have most of the parts for it. By no means this is not a trophy winning car, it is just a driver. I just do not have time for this car.  Serious Buyers ONLY!!! It has a 1971 340 in it that does run but needs good wiring and exhaust. Will not take much to finish this car to a nice driver quality car. Do not mistake this ad, this is not a trailer queen or it is not a trophy car. It is just a good old MOPAR.. 407-892-1942

We reserve the right to end auction early because it is FOR SALE locally.  $500.00 non-refundable deposit required at end of auction.  Must be picked up within 10 days unless agreed upon and other arrangements made.  Balance must be paid in full before car leaves my possession.  If you are a big MOPAR guy this really is not the car for you because I do not know what is original and what has been changed.  I would say this car has been pieced together but it is still an E-body.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
