I am selling my pride & joy! 1972 Plymouth Cuda 340 Pistol Grip A/C numbers matching Mopar.

This is a "REAL" BS23 Cuda 340 4 speed, sold in Kingston NY in 12/71 & I am the 2nd registered owner.

Originally blue from factory, painted sublime Green over 10 years ago & still looks gorgeous.

This Cuda is 100% functioning, currently registered, insured  & driven to shows & cruising in nice weather.

It's  a magnet, draws crowds, thumbs up, wherever I am. Just won Best Mopar at Local show.

Starting with exterior of car it is very nice & straight, paint shines well, not perfect but a gorgeous mopar( Nothing is perfect!)

All glass nice, all moldings very nice & shine well for age, rocker moldings excellent, chrome sport mirrors mint, door handles perfect, hood emblems & hood pins mint, rear lights perfect with mint chrome bezels . Front & Rear bumpers originals rechromed years ago look great.

Front grill restored in correct dark argent grey paint with texture along with "blood red" inserts painted ( From Totally Auto).

Rear Valence also restored in correct "textured" black also from Totally Auto.

This is not a Barret Jackson Trailer Queen but again a gorgeous Mopar that stands tall at any show.

The interior is gorgeous as well, dash is very nice, door panels nice, all interior handles replaced, guages in great shape, headliner perfect besides one small cut near dome light(hard to see), seatbelts restored, center console beautiful, pistol grip shifter very nice, parking brake, brake & gas pedals have chrome accent bezels.  Retains original radio( working perfectly), added power antenna for clearer radio reception. I added a mint tuff wheel I had from a 71 Cuda ( Original two spoke comes with sale and is mint).

Headlights, highbeams, signals, brake lights, reverse lights, parking lights, speedometer, fuel, temp, oil & alternator guages all working!  Tachometer needs cable ( easy hookup).

This is a numbers matching motor( Block & J heads). All original components that were taken off included with sale( manifolds, intake, carb, steering wheel, center caps). Motor rebuilt ($6000.00) 480 miles ago to stock specs, removed exhaust manifolds which have been restored and packaged away & put on headers, also took off original manifold & thermoquad carb which are boxed up and come with sale. Replaced intake with Vintage Edelbrock LD340 & carb with Holley 750. Motor runs excellent, a joy to drive, has nice rumble like back in day & drives a smooth as any muscle car you could buy!

Engine compartment is nice, retains original air cleaner(restored), original electronic ignition, original coil, original voltage regulator, original wiring straps, washer bottle, distributor( still points), original radiator & shroud, all electrical wiring perfect, original power steering pump & every a/c component in tact!

Few last things, car sits on 15 inch rallye wheels, NOS 71 center caps on now ( original 72 center caps mint & come with sale), all four trim rings in beautiful shape. Goodyear Eagle GT 11 tires 236/60/15 fronts & 275/60/15 rears.

Nice trunk mat, original restored jack with "rare" jack cover & space saver tire with inflator & holdown

I have a brand new NOS switch that needs to be installed to work heat, a/c. Blower motor works great, back of switch was broken so I bought NOS one, needs to be installed I wil attempt to get done before car sells.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
