This auction is for a real 1971 Plymouth Cuda convertible not a Barracuda. It originally came with a 340 and four speed but both are long gone and in their place sit a 500 inch stroker wedge motor and 18 spline tranny transmission. Please read this auction carefully. The info below was borrowed from another eBay listing that I saw. I know some people may or may not agree with the values but I found the numbers and info to be very helpful so I am including it with this auction. You are looking a very rare car. The changes that were done to this car can easily be undone so if someone wants to ever change this car back to a completely stock vehicle it would be extremely easy to do. There were only 374 actual Cuda convertibles made in 1971 and of those only 30 were 340 cars with 4 speeds. The 71 Cuda Convertible had three engine options. The 383 came as standard equipment. The buyer could upgrade to one of three high performance engines : 340, 440-6 and Hemi. 71 Hemi Cuda convertibles are worth Millions( auto trans $2-3 Million, 4spd $4-6 million) 71 440-6 Cuda convertibles are worth over half a million (auto trans $400k-600k, 4spd $550-$800k) 71 340 cuda convertibles with an automatic trans (102 produced)are worth $75k-125k depending on condition, colors and options. 71 340 Cuda convertibles with a 4spd trans (30 produced) are worth $100k-$250k depending on condition, colors and options. The lowest colors on the range are golds and browns. The highest colors are Curious yellow and Sassy Grass Green. As far as I know, There is only one Sassy 4spd 71 340 Cuda convert and three Curious Yellow 340 4spd Cuda converts. This car was restored back in the 2000's. My shop recently updated it. We repainted it & added the black billboards. It is a very nice car. The car has been driven 1771 miles since the restoration but only a few miles since the re-paint and upgrades. The interior is Orange/Black with the interior panels being dyed orange, they are very nice. We added a total Hotchkis vehicle suspension system to this car to make it handle like a modern day driving machine. It has everything that Hotchkis makes for one of these cars. It includes front and rear suspension plus their frame connection/stiffing system. The car has power steering and manual brakes. It drives extremely nice. We add an Imagine Injection Eight Stack Fuel Injection System by Bob Ream. The system looks great and works really nicely. You will not or don't see many engines that look this cool. Please look the pictures over carefully, this system is very trick... Bob uses a FAST computer to control the electronic fuel injection. We also added an e-body Vintage Air A/C system with March Performance Billet front pulley system. We then added new Year/One 17 inch Rallye wheels and new 245 front rubber and 275 rear rubber. This car is ready to be driven and shown. Someone will be getting an extremely nice car as this collector is letting this one go. Here are a few videos of the Hotchkis system in their challenger-we used the same suspension system on this car. It has everything from Hotchkis..

It has a pistol grip four speed and console with cool white faced gauges. It has a power black top. It has both front and rear rubber bumpers & a painted grill. I have a picture of the fender tag that I am happy to email to interested people. I just don't want to post up the tag with this auction. I am sorry to report that there is no buildsheet with the car. There is clear title, fender tag,and the owner has a great reputation in the mopar world. The winning bidder will need to pay the collector in full prior to the car leaving my shop. The winning bidder is responsible for all shipping costs. The car is available for inspection at my shop in Hudson FL. We have a lift and you can spend as much time reviewing the car as you would like. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need to get comfortable with this extremely rare 1971 cuda convertible. We reserve the right to end this auction at any time since this car is for sale locally.
Good Luck, Mike

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]
Mon, 16 Jun 2014
We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
