This is a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible! These are incredibly rare!

In 1971 Plymouth produced 722 Convertible Barracudas and only 292 convertible Cudas

43 years later, only half of those convertibles are likely to still be in circulation. Many cars were wrecked, crushed or rusted away.

I always keep an eye out for Convertible E bodies, they VERY RARELY come up for sale as projects. This year you may have seen two....
A 1970 Challenger Convertible & a 1971 Barracuda convertible... But I was the one selling them :D

I own a large family collection of unrestored Mopars. But this is the last 1971 Barracuda convertible body that I will be putting for sale.
I sold one earlier this year in February on eBay and I'm keeping one for myself.

SO this could be your last chance to get your hands on an unrestored 71 Barracuda Convertible!!!
At this point the surviving 1971 Barracuda Convertibles have all been restored and turned into Hemi clones.

You could buy a restored 71 Cuda clone for $100,000 + BUT then your just buying someone else's dream car...

Build your own dream car how YOU want it to be built, and save money doing the resto yourself!

ALL of the hard work has already been done! The body is rock solid and ready to be built.

The floors, trunk, and quarters have all been professionally replaced!

New fenders, fender gills, and shaker hood have been added!

The car has a CLEAR TITLE! The Dash VIN matches the body numbers and title!

The car originally had a G code 318 V8. The body was originally B5 blue. The car no longer has a fender tag.
But its not like anyone would built this car to factory specs anyway...

The convertible top rack looks very nice! It doesn't have any rust and moves freely.

The car has it's original OEM "Convertible Only" rear seat

The car has all of the original front "Convertible Only" front windsheild trim.

All of the "Convertible Only" side glass is still intact. The windows roll up and down as they should.

The rear convertible stainless trim is missing one end piece. But you can buy that stainless trim reproduction.
You can see the piece missing in the pictures on the passenger side. The trim piece is only a few inches long.

The car has POWER STEERING & DISK BRAKES!!!

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
