Up for auction is my 1971 Plymouth Barracuda. Please look at the pictures and read the description of the car. The pictures are accurate and the description will be very detailed and honest.

This is not a numbers matching car and I would say the restoration is about 90-95% complete. It's a California car and originally had a 318 but it now has a 1972 340 with a 727 transmission purchased from Renee's Country Auto. The engine is 40 over with a 488 cam and roller rockers, big 202 valves on J heads with a 3 angle valve job and hardened seats for premium unleaded gas, new valve springs and a 600CFM Edelbrock carb.

Engine, trans, wheels and tires have aprox 2000 miles on them.

The front seat covers, door panels and new dash are from Legendary Auto.

The paint does have some minor scratches and imperfections but shows very well.

Here is a list of what I believe the car needs to complete the restoration.

The emergency brake cable comes with the car but will need to be hooked up. The wiper motor needs to be wired in. The passenger rear quarter window is scratched. The speedometer cable comes with car but will need to be hooked up. The front end is in decent condition but the car will come with new upper and lower ball joints. The tail panel looks good but does have a slight bow in the center, I posted pics of the rear from 3 angles. The weather stripping between the door and quarter windows need to be replaced.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. The car is being sold AS IS and I would encourage you to come by and inspect the car if possible. Shipping is buyers responsibility but I am willing to assist with loading the car onto transporter. There is a non-refundable  $500 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours of auction completion.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
