Description:

UNRESTORED with a repaint (2 stage) in original F4 Lime Green Poly color on the outside only before I purchased car 10 years ago and still looks as if it was painted yesterday, really, no scratches or bubbles, very shinny! Engine compartment still with original paint. NO RUST, NO BUBBLES anywhere, all original body panels. Original RARE (V1G) Gator Grain vinyl top in great shape. Car spent life in California and Florida. All numbers match car with 318 V8, 3 speed automatic transmission and 276 rear end differential, great cruiser showing 87,731 on the odometer, no way to prove it but I believe it’s accurate. I will include all records I have on the car from me and previous owner who sold me the car from Roseville, CA 95678. I have clear title in hand.

Body is straight as an arrow, all body panel gaps align perfect, doors closed perfect with no sagging at all, original stamping numbers and marks are visible. Chrome and stainless steel in great shape. Glass all original without scratch with exception of replaced windshield. Factory original luggage rack car in great condition.

Engine runs smooth and powerful, never gets hot even with a/c on, no hesitation or knocking with premium gas, transmission changes as designed, no vibrations, no noises. Power drum brakes and power steering work as they should without leaks. A/C works great, still with R12 Freon with original compressor, temperature blows at 40 degrees but you will need to ad Freon every year.

Everything works on this car including all dash instruments with original clock and all lights and switches on it, A/C controls, AM radio, rear defroster, variable wipers, window cranks, locks, interior lighting, door chime, emergency flasher, turn signal, factory overhead console with low gas, open door and seat belt light warnings, all works as it should, original seat belts with factory decals, cigarette lighter, glove compartment with light, center console in perfect like new condition, original Gran Coupe door panels like new, not chalky at all, but do have small speaker cuts on lower corners with speakers installed, rear speaker woks as it should, front dash speaker is disconnected. Dash has molded plastic cover to hide cracks near speaker, can’t tell if not disclosed.  Wood grain steering wheel looks great, not cracked, horn works perfect. Front leather seat were recovered with leatherette and look as new, no cracks, splits or blemishes. Rear seat are original vinyl in great shape too.

Engine compartment looks all original, with factory markings, decals, correct hoses, correct radiator, correct manifolds, carburetor, correct everything. Original engine compartment faded paints shows no rust anywhere even under battery tray or master brake. Engine always well maintained since I purchased 10 years ago. On the photos, you will see real nice paint on the engine, and yes it looks good but is only on visible areas from the top, the engine has not been removed and from under, the block shows only original paint or what is left of it. Of course, hoses and other maintenance parts have been replaced.  Has won best original engine compartment in a number of shows.

Trunk is in great shape very original and complete with space saver tire, jack and attachments, the way it came from factory. Again, all original panels in this car, none replaced. Trunk was repainted inside in certain scratched areas to help protect against rust. Very solid, no worries.

The undercarriage of the car is as clean with NO RUST as the rest of the car, and undercoated, as solid as the first day it was built. Double exhaust replaces factory single exhaust with correct mufflers and similar resonators.

Car has correct 1970 14 inches rally wheels with BRAND NEW BF Goodrich radial for better ride. Came originally with hub cabs but replaced by previous owner. Wheels beauty rings are original and do have scratches but I prefer then to current reproductions.

I added factory original road lamps with rare original GE light bulbs in great working shape with all correct wiring, paid a pretty penny for them, but I don’t regret it.

When I bought the car I was told by seller that car had original build sheet, however when I started decoding sheet supplied, it turn out it belong to a different Barracuda, years after, long story, I found owner of car corresponding to build sheet I had, so I forwarded to him. I have never found correct build sheet of my car. The fender tag reads as follows: E44 D31 BP23 G0E 115438 * FF4 PRX9 000 A28 048234 * V1G A01 A04 C16 C26 C55 * G33 H51 J25 L31 M21 M25 * M31 M91 N95 R11 V1G * V5X 26 END. It also has the original small tag screwed under fender tag with a “C  I”. VIN # BP23GOE115438.

All in all, if you are looking for a RARE ORIGINAL Barracuda in GREAT CONDITION with NO RUST that drives like it did 44 years ago and it’s ready to be enjoyed, then I urge you to take a good look at this beautiful car.

PLEASE, I am not a dealer and this is a 40+ year old car for sale with no warranty offered or implied. I urged you to inspect the car BEFORE you buy it, please, ask all questions BEFORE you buy it, have all doubts cleared BEFORE you buy it. If you can’t inspect personally, please I highly recommend you send a professional of your choice to do it for you. I have a perfect record on eBay and would like to maintain it. I will answer all questions as best as I can, and help interested parties clear doubts as much as I can BEFORE they buy it. After car is bought, answers will be limited to payment and shipping of car. If you can’t follow this simple eBay rule, please disregard this great car and keep looking, I am serious about this.

I will not release car until good funds clear bank. I will assist buyer as much as possible with shipment of car, but arrangement and costs belong to the buyer.

Thank you for your interest in my beautiful car.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
