This is a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda that I've owned for 7 1/2 years. It's originally from Florida. Since the time that I've owned it I've put about 1,800 miles on it. It has a transplanted 340/727 that the prior owner had installed but was also told it originally had a 318. I don't believe the engine has ever been rebuilt it's and is all stock. The engine runs very well but in my opinion a rebuild should be done. I can hear a ticking noise I believe to be in the valve train but it does not affect the running condition.  I do not know the mileage on the engine but I do know the engine and trans are out of a 1970 Duster according to the prior owner. This would be the good 340 with steel crank, full floating forged pistons, 2.02 valves and 10:1 compression. It has the good exhaust manifolds and a Edelbrock carb. The trans shifts very well. I had changed the fluid and filter and added a trans cooler. Very good core for a restoration on this car. Comes with a good title.

Since I've owned the car I've installed new tires, new dual exhaust with Dynomax mufflers, an electronic ignition, new hard brake lines, fuel tank and I've had the steering box rebuilt. The car starts up and drives well but needs to be totally restored. This would be a perfect restoration project for someone or could be driven as is. The body is pretty good overall. It does need new quarter panels( Included-see pic) and a tail pan but the underside of the car including floor, rockers, frame rails, trunk pan and inner rockers are pretty good with the exception of a small 6" diameter hole I found near the LH toe board. The interior is mostly complete and the upholstery on the seats is nice. It needs a headliner, carpet and a dash pad. The heater control and the LH fresh air vent are missing, the radio, rear arm rests, speaker, cigarette lighter, seat belts and wiper switch, spare, jack are also missing. It has a nice original reconditioned automatic console. The fold down partition into the trunk is a replacement. The door panels are usable but need some repair. It has the standard light duty rear axle, power steering and factory rally wheels. Has good tinted glass.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
