Sell or Trade my 1968 Plymouth Barracuda (fast back). Recently acquired on a trade. Im not much of a mopar man, but I know what it is and what it can and could be worth as well. The previous owner was 70yrs old. I have paperwork from the previous owner of things done to it. Not everything done is documented however. The car's Vin number matches that it is a 1968, 318, and body type and where it was built. However I am unsure whether or not the 318 is original or one from another year, as I have not looked that hard. This is a Sunday cruiser, not really a show car by my standards, but it does look good at a show.  Wouldn't take much more elbow grease and a little funding to really make this toy shine.

Now the stuff you want to know:
This car is not a Barrett Jackson car and is a nice 10' and looks great sitting or cruising.
VIN # bh29f8b412980
Car is a 318 and runs out well.
cammed,
Holley Carb
New mechanical Fuel pump
New lifters, and rods,
Muncie trans, & Stall, (no I do not know the stall info)
B & M shifter 3 speed,
geared rear end,
new ceramic coated headers and full exhaust to mufflers.
Newer American Racing Wheels
Newer tires
Newer Carpet
Newer seats front and back
redone headliner
new bumpers
69 taillights (left side lens is cracked) and center tailpieces (painted but not on the car)
68 taillights (But they have severe pitting)
redone solid floor pans, and padding installed
solid trunk pan with 2 small spots of rust (very small)
all lights work and signals
has powersteering

the bad:

Paint could be redone, last person to buff and polish it, buffed to far on a few corners/angles. The right hood hinge sticks a little when closing (could be replaced).
The car's oil pressure light came on, I checked the filter, and I have circulation, I checked valve covers and I have oil, and checked the sensor hole and I have oil that comes out. However I don't have a guage to get an accurate read on the oil pressure, so it could be its a faulty sensor or could have a blocked pickup tube. Currently the car fires right up and runs strong. But I just wanted to be safe and not drive it until I knew for sure what the oil pressure was.  This car does not need to be trailered to drive, however I would trailer it home to be safe until it is checked out.  No sense in ruining a good engine.

The Car is being sold locally as well, So I can cancel the auction at anytime if sold locally.  There is no warranty with the car.  I am NOT an "ASE certified mechanic", I am NOT a "dealership."  So I listed the car to the best of my abilities and description. I will do whatever I can to answer all questions promptly and to the best of my ability.  So if you have questions please ask.  So thanks for looking and happy bidding!  You wont be disappointed!

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
