Up for auction is my 1968 barracuda formula S.This is a project car.I had bought it to restore but i went a different direction so i decided to sell it.It will need a complete restoration. It has a very small rust hole in the front passenger side floor, the floors overall are in pretty good shape but to be nice they should be replaced. The quarter panels are in need of repair no rust just some fiberglass from what appears to be from an accident at some point. No front fenders came with the car but i do have a pair from a parts car that i purchased specifically for the fenders which i will sell to the auction winner for $350.00 the drivers side is in great condition, the passenger side is in rough shape but is repairable both fenders will need the the bottom replaced, they can be bought on ebay for $65.00 each.No engine or transmission, was origanally a 340 motor & automatic transmission. The (P) in the VIN # means it was a 340 car.I have researched this along with alot more information. The car came just as you see it except for the hood which is not the oringal hood.I also have the rear window and front windshield trim that i will throw in,its not show trim but in very good condition with some very minor dings. The windshield is broken. The top dash piece is in rough shape, but the bottom two pieces are in good shape, the dash frame has some rust where the glove box door is.The glass was out of the doors when i bought the car ,but i have the glass with all the parts to install them from another fastback car that goes with it.The door jamb knockers (both sides)will need to be replaced i have the pieces cut out from another car to go with the car.I have two 68 hood inserts that go with the car,all these parts i had to pay for seperate from the purchase price of the car.I have way more into it than what i'm asking so my loss is your gain.I think i have put in everything i could think of.ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING.IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACK SCORE YOU MUST CONTACT ME.IF YOU DO NOT I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID!!! I'M SORRY TO HAVE TO DO THIS BUT I ALWAYS SEE BIDDERS WITH LOW FEEDBACK SCORES BIDDING JUST TO RAISE THE BID SO POTENTIAL BUYERS HAVE TO PAY MORE FOR SOMETHING THEY COULD HAVE BOUGHT FOR A LOT LESS!! I'M DOING THIS SO LEGITIMATE BUYERS HAVE THE CHANCE TO BUY SOMETHING THEY MIGHT WANT FOR A FAIR PRICE!!!!!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
