1967 Plymouth Barracuda, Formula S, Notchback, #'s matching, 75,392 actual miles.

This classic is original with minimal restoration or changes.

273 Commando, V8, 265 HP, 4 barrell carb, automatic,727 heavy duty torque flight transmission, 323 posi rear end, full gauge package, factory AC, bucket seats, front manual disk brakes, high ratio steering, original hubcaps, original am/fm radio, brand new front tires , rear tires 75%.

I am the 3rd owner, the previous owners father bought it new in 1967 in CA. The Cuda was put in storage in CA from 1982 until 2001. The vehicle was moved to CO in 2001 when the motor was completely rebuilt at 74,000 miles.(have original receipts) HEI distributor & proper valves were also put in so it could run on unleaded. Exhaust also done at this time. Less than 1400 miles since the rebuild.New Edelbrock carb, hoses, belts & battery done with recent tuneup. (I have the original carb, air cleaner & coil)

This is a real factory A/C car, although when motor was rebuilt, it was not reinstalled. I have all the original AC parts: compressor, dryer, and hoses. The condenser is still attached to the radiator. Inside vents still intack.Compressor turns freely. I would probably put new hoses and convert to new freon system.

This Cuda is a beautiful dark forest green, painted in 2001, and looks fantastic. Original exterior color was turbine bronze metallic, per fender tag. Original white interior is in perfect shape except for a small tear on the seam on the lower portion of the drivers seat. Door panels, headliner, dash and carpet are in perfect condition.  All glass is good, no cracks.

This classic is Rust Free!  Complete undercarriage front to back , floor boards, inner quarters and trunk are all rust free.

Car runs and looks fantastic! Drives straight and brakes straight. This is a real Formula S car, see fender tag pic for decoding to see how rare this car is.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
