Up for auction is my very nice 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Notchback. This is a REAR formula S barracuda, as decoded on the fender tag. Orginally a 273 V8, it now has a sweet running and pretty fast 340 V8 in it. This car is 99.9% rust free, was completely restored in 1998, and still shows very well. It was sold to the owner i purchased it from in 1999 for $20,000. That was strong money for a car 15 years ago, but it was that nice. The black interior is still in fantastic shape. Seats are mint, gauges work. The body is laser straight and still looks awesome, however just this past year the paint started cracking in places just from age. It is still very presentable as is, from 10 feet away it looks like a show car. If you wanted to respray it would be super nice. Quarters are nice, trunk floor is nice, frame is awesome. You will be impressed with the condition on this car. It fires right up, i put on a new carb and some other things. I have put a couple hundred miles on it, and would not hesitate to jump in it and drive it anywhere. You will not find a better deal on a nice turn key A body notchback, much less a real formula S.I do have the original rallye wheels that were on it when i purchased it, they can go with the car if high bidder wants them as well. I am listing this car NO RESERVE!! So bid to win. I reserve the right to end this auction early at any time for any reason, as car is for sale locally. Thanks for looking and good luck, please ask with any questions. I will be glad to assist in shipping at buyer's expense. Overseas bidders welcome. Please serious bidders only!!

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
