1971 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE WITH ORIGINAL SNOWM WHITE PAINT,THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE RUST FREE CAR WITH ORIGINAL INTERIOR,ORIGINAL CARPET,ORIGINAL PAINT,ORIGINAL RUBBERIZED COATING,THE OMLY PARTS NOT ORIGINAL ARE THE ENGINE,STEERING WHEEL,ADD ON GAUGE CLUSTER BELOW THE STEERING COLUMN,THE BLACK TRIMS,GAS TANK ,OTHERWISE EVERYTING ELSE CAME WITH IT FROM THE FACTORY BACK IN 71,I MAY HAVE NOT INCLUDED SOME ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION BUT THAT MEANS THEY ARE MINOR DETAILS, STARTED AS A 318 AND NOW HAS A 360 STROKED TO 408,I HAVE A 650 CFM 4 BARREL RIGHT NOW BUT I HAVE A DUAL QUAD READY FOR INSTALL,JUST WAITING FOR THE EDELBROCK LINKAGE, THE 650 CFM RUNS OK FOR NOW BUT WITH A STROKER ,I CAN GO CRAZY WITH A DUAL 600 ,MY PLAN WAS TO DO A 1:1 DUAL QUAD,NOT PROGRESSIVE, OUR ROADS HERE ARE SHORT SO I HAVE NO USE FOR PROGRESSIVE,I WANT TO OPEN BOTH CARBS AT THE SAME TIME...BUT YOU CAN ADJUST TO PROGRESSIVE IF YOU WANT,I HAVE INSTALLED A BRAND NEW ELECTRI VACUUM PUMP TO WORK MY BRAKE BOOSTER. THIS WAS A HIGH PRICE OPTION SO ORIGINAL AC CAR,PLUMBING STILL THERE BUT THE AC MOTOR IS LONG GONE,THE ENGINE BAY WAS PAINTED BLACK,USED TO BE WHITE.THE SEATS ARE ORIGINAL,HAS RIPS ON BOTH THE FRONT SIDES OF THE BENCH ,I HAVE NOT STARTED ON THAT ,UP TO YOU NOW TO DECIDE IF YOU WANT BUCKETS OR ORIGINAL.THE REAR SEAT STILL PUFFY AND NOT SAT ON MUCH. I GOT HER WITH A BOAT STEERING WHEEL SO I INSTALLED A GRANT WOOD STEERING THAT MATCHES THE MUSCLE CAR ERA,IT HAS THE ORIGINAL REAR END WHICH IS A 8 1/4 .THE GAS TANK KIS BRAND NEW AND SO IS THE SENDING UNIT. THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS VERY CLEAN FOR ITS AGE,DID I MENTION THIS CAR IS ABSOLUTELY RUST FREE! THE ONLY FLAWS ARE THE DRIVER DOOR DENT AND THE REAR QUARTER DENT,OTHERWISE,BODY IS AS STRAIGHT AS IT CAN BE. THE REAR BUMPER STILL SHINY,THE FRONT GRILL STILL SHINY AND OF COURSE,FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DID NOT NOTICE IT YET,I KNOW THIS IS NOT A DODGE ,BUT STILL A MOPAR. LOOK AT THE FRONT GRILL OF THIS CAR AND LOOK ATHE TAIL LIGHT FOR THE NEW DODGE CHARGERS AND DODGE DART, SEE THE RESEMBLANCE? ANYWAYS. MILAGE GOES UP DAILY AS SHE IS MY DAILY DRIVER AND OF COURSE I WOULD LIKE TO DRIVE HER WITH THE DUAL QUAD SO AS SOON AS I GET THE LINKAGE,SHE WILL HAVE THE DUAL QUAD ON. YOU ARE WELCOME TO SEE HER ,JUST LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU ARE COMING AHEAD OF TIME,OTHERWISE,YOU CAN SEE HER PARKED IN A LOCAL HOSPITAL WHERE I WORK. FRONT END IS ADJUSTABLE,IT IS SITTING LOW RIGHT NOW BUT CAN GO AN INCH AND A HALF HIGHER AND ANOTHER INCH LOWER.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
