Here's a pretty solid Roadrunner clone winter project. This car was born a Satellite and converted over to Roadrunner. It now has thre RR grill,8 3/4 rearend with 3:55 gears, rear sway bar and more. The frame rails, floorboards, trunk and underneath on this car are all rock solid perfect. Everything under the hood is exceptional. I'm selling this car as a roller although all it needs to be a driver is a transmission. It has a decent 318 in it now but nothing special. The chrome on this car is all exceptional, straight and clean. All the glass is good. The doors hood and trunk all open and close and fit nice, no sagging worn out parts. There is a spot of rust that wil need attention where the rocker meets the quarter panel on the right side of the vehicle and a little soft on the front lower quarter on the drivers side.See the pictures  Both easy areas to patch and if I were doing the car I'd match the paint and spot paint these areas and have a nice driver quality car. Inside the car the dash is mint but the seats will need covered as they are torn. Someone along the way installed some ugly red carpet that I would replace. I would get new door panels and so on to make it real nice. Other than that it is not far from being one sweet Roadrunner. These cars drive so nice and handle excelent. Wheels and tires are real nice and do go with the car. There is 3" stainless exhaust under the car that goes with it. I have a new driveshaft and some other parts I will let go for the buy it now price. There are more in parts alone here than I'm asking for the car. The only reason It's for sale at all is to fund my 68 charger resteration. I know the value of having solid bones like this car has after replacing as much metal as we are on my Charger. This Roadrunner project is so far ahead of the game needing very little metal work. Call me for more info this car is going to sell and I want it in good hands. I love my the old classics and this one is special to me. Call 218-821-4394 for more info or arrangements. I'll deliver it for a small fee, cover fuel, as long as the car is paid for first.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
