Weather seals are functional but recommended to be changed. Minor rust bubbling under paint on driver side headlight. AM radio does not work."

The restoration performed by the previous owner was not perfect as observed in the pictures. I tried to include the pictures that show the worst aspects of the vehicle, as anyone can make something look "perfect". This car still needs some work to be "show material". The car is fully functional and runs great. We have overhauled the engine and added many components to improve performance and reliability. I will mention first and foremost that the steering seems a little loose and the speedometer is off by 5-8 MPH. Other than that, the car runs like a beast. It sounds great with the Flowmaster exhaust. I have additional pictures and video available upon request. Below is a list of the different things that have been performed.

-Front brakes replaced on both sides including: Calipers, pads, rotors, outer bearings, grease seals, and replaced master cylinder.
-Rear brakes replaced on both sides including: Wheel cylinders, brake drums, brake shoes, spring and hardware kit, and brake lines.
-Front suspension replacement of the following: Upper and lower ball joints, steering linkage, inner and outer tie rode ends, drag link, steering gear box, and performed front end alignment.
-Replaced front shocks with Monroe premium shocks, also replaced rear shocks with Monroe premium air shocks.
-New exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and chrome tips.
-Replaced all tires with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T - P215-70R14 tires.
-Radiator has been replaced including upper and lower hoses as well as heater hose.
-Replaced battery, starter, and cables.
-Undercarriage and engine compartment has been undercoated with 3M undercoat.
-Fuel tank has been replaced with new float.
-Carpet was replaced.
-Transmission was rebuilt by Ross Moore Transmission in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
-Transmission lines were replaced.

-Engine was machined in Sturgis, Michigan. Engine was bored .30 over, cylinder heads reconditioned, crankshaft polished, new main bearings, rod bearings, and camshaft bearings. New high volume oil pump, new camshaft, lifters, push rods, timing chain and sprocket, added Edelbrock 4-barrel aluminum intake, Edelbrock 4-barrel 600 CFM carburetor, and high volume fuel pump.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
