1972 Plymouth Road Runner Tribute - Recently Restored - Nothing Needed! Mopar on 2040-cars

US $32,500.00
Year:1972 Mileage:93250 Color: of the car is in great condition
Location:

Jackson, Mississippi, United States

Jackson, Mississippi, United States

This car has a 360 V8 and an automatic transmission. The engine has been rebuilt and there's no leaks and low mileage. The car has been adult owned and it was built more to be a powerful cruiser than a race car. This setup is mild but has plenty of power. It is equipped with a 4 barrel carb, aluminum intake manifold, a mild cam, electronic ignition, and of course, dual exhaust. This car runs excellent and there are no known issues.

The exterior of the car is in great condition. It has recently been painted "Jet Black" with a modern base coat / clear coat paintjob. The pictures were just taken on 12/29 and they speak for themselves as this car looks excellent. No dents or scratches.

The interior of the car is black with woodgrain accents and has been gone through completely and is in very good condition with no rips, or tears. The interior, like the rest of the car, has been completely redone in the last 6 months.  It has the deluxe bucket seats with deluxe interior panels as well as the optional fold down "buddy seat" / armrest between the bucket seats. It also has the optional Rally dash. There is a very nice modern Kenwood stereo system that is IPOD and Iphone compatible. All gauges work, as does the heater. The car originally had air conditioning but the compressor and under hood lines were removed. All of the AC controls in the dash, as well as all appropriate dash vents are still in place so that the air conditioning could be easily reinstalled in a day at a minimum cost if the new owner should want to do that.

The car drives very nicely. It has power steering which works excellent. Also important to mention is that this car has power brakes, front disc, and it will stop on a dime. The ride is very nice with no squeaks and rattles. The car does not get hot in traffic as it has the large optional 26" radiator that was installed from the factory for heavy duty use.

This particular car came from the factory as a very well optioned model. It was actually optioned out as a top of the line Satellite Sebring Plus model and has had the cosmetic changes to look just like the Roadrunners, but most Roadrunners were very basic where as this car has almost all of the best options you could get in 1972. The choice to do the cosmetic Road Runner changes were only done to give the car a more sporty fun look.

This car is fun. It's a blast to cruise around in and is good to go as is. This is no project car. I have driven this car without any issues and would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. These cars are doing nothing but going up in value. It is definitely an attention getter. It's hard to find a good looking black on black model such as this. This car has current registration, inspection, and I have a title in hand.

I will help load the car for shipping, if necessary, but the buyer is responsible for setting up shipping. The car can remain here, fully insured, not driven, and garaged inside, for 30 days. The buyer will need to send a deposit of $500 within 24 hours of the end of the sale. The full payment must be received by my bank or directly to me within 5 business days of the end of the sale. If you have any questions, you can reach me at 361-746-0585.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
