This car is a genuine RM27 code, meaning it is not a Satellite or Sport Satellite clone but a real Road Runner. One of 824 produced. How many are left and when is the last time you saw one available at a reasonable price? The gentleman who had owned it prior to me for roughly 20 years made some personalized changes so it would resemble what he would have purchased from the Chrysler/Plymouth Dealer back in the day. Starting off, the F8 Dark Ivy Green Paint had to go. Both 1/4 panels were replaced and many hours were spent blocking and sanding. After which time, a fresh FC7 InViolet Met. base/clear paint job was applied. The A/C components were removed in favor of the addition of the Airgrabber hood scoop which works as it should. Laser and properly applied side reflective dust-trails (not upside down in one section or the other) compliment the beautiful bodywork and paint which looks like it was done within a few years. I believe it's actually 15 years old! The rear taillight valance was replaced with an NOS unit and the gold reflective transverse strip was added. The grille was restored with the proper Argent color schemes by Brad's NOS. Hood-pins, wood sport steering wheel, Tic-toc-tach, (clock does not work Tach does), and all other gauges do. Very nice dash pad, bucket seat and rear seat covers, well liner, top boot with the correct plastic clips (rather than than the snaps guys incorrectly install and ruin the next to impossible to find stainless belt moldings). New Hydro-Electric-Pump top motor. White top with glass rear window. I have a brand new set of Road runner floormats for show and one set for driving. BFG tires and American Racing Magnum 500 Billet aluminum wheel with less than 100 miles on them. The original 727 transmission is gone in favor of the Hurst Pistol-Grip 4-speed. New front and rear seals on trans and a new Centerforce clutch plate. I had a 30 over 440 445c.i. motor built by Kilpatrick Racing and Transmissions, Owner of the "Bad Judgement" Pro Mod World record holder 63 Polara. The motor has a Comp cams #21-227-4. 525 gross valve lift with Comp Roller Rockers. Diamond flat top pistons (zero decked). MSD Pro Billet distributor and ignition, Firecore wires. 906 heads 2.14/1.81 Valves Internal Balance and forged crank. New water pump, radiator hoses, V-belts. Melling 63HV oil pump, 6 quart HEMI oil pan. 27"radiator. The car runs and drives beautifully with no issues and has never overheated. New ball joints, idler arm, front brake hardware, front brake shoe kit and recent wheel alignment. Super powerful Pioneer FM/CD player with Subs, and amplifiers hidden in the trunk. Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. 'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
