Klamath Falls, Oregon, United States

1963 Plymouth Sport Fury Convertible. Fresh out of dry storage.  Original 361 Big Block 727 auto trans car. Missing: motor, transmission, radiator, lower rocker moldings, and I think power brake booster.  By the looks of the master cylinder that is on it, it was a power brake car, but not sure.  Car is very complete minus items already said.  Car has zero problem rust.  Body is fairly straight for its age and appears to never been repainted.   See pictures.  The left front fender has been replaced and has a little rot on the bottom, but as you can see from the pictures, it is not original to the car.  Top mechanism is all in tact (I am sure it needs to be rebuilt), top material needs replaced, where the front latches hook into the top at the forward front bow shows some crusty areas.   Rear convertible door panels are very nice for their age.  Bucket seats and console are in tact as seen in pictures.  Heater box has been removed but is the back seat, included with the car.   Original instrument cluster is in the car loosely, and has the clock option.  Trunk is really clean in the center, the lower quarter extensions are very nice, see pics.  Gas tank is in the trunk and has a small hole in it.  Gas tank filler neck and strap are also in the trunk are not rusty, and are included. All the wiring for the car has been removed except the rear section to the tail lights but all 4 harnesses, forward light, engine, under dash, and tail light is included.  Original big block power steering pump and tranny lines are also loose in the car.  Sport Fury trim front to back is all included and restorable.  Front lower valance is included but pretty beat, not rusty. Glass is all present and not cracked.  Steering wheel has usual age cracks, center steering wheel medallion is present and shows its age.  Ask any and all questions before bidding. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as this car is for sale locally.  How often do you see a clean west coast Sport Fury convert for sale? Shipping costs can offset your sheet metal replacement costs 3 fold.

Car has clean Oregon lien papers, I can obtain a title in about a month at an additional cost if the car is going out of the state.  (Less than $100)

This car is a roller, I can help load for transportation purposes.   I can store the car tarped outside for up to 30 days.  After that, there will be a storage fee of $10 a day.  After 60 days, all monies will be forfeited unless other arrangements are made with me.

Shipping terms:  Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.  I can help load on a transporter, but this car is not operable.

Payment terms:  $500.00 non refundable deposit required at auctions end via Pay Pal. Final payment due within 7 days of auctions end, via cash or certified funds. Car will not be released until funds clear the bank.

I am going to be selling off 3 other 63 and 64 Plymouths in the next few months on ebay.

I am a MoPar guy, I can tell you anything you need to know about this car, especially condition issues, what you will need and where to get it.  I have been building these cars for 20 years, call me and I can tell you what you need to know.  My number is (54I) - 89I-6739, 8am - 6pm PST.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
