Up for auction is my 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner, real RM23N0G car, was 383 auto, now has a 73 440 and reverse manual(automatic) transmission. The car is nearly rust free, and is a driver. Make no mistake, this is a project car that needs a lot of tinkering, but as is it could easily be made into a daily driver and is a solid basis for a cool cruiser. The 440 engine was rebuilt .040 over by previous owner about a year ago. It fires right up runs good and shifts good through all gears. It does have an oil leak, appears to be valve cover, and a small trans leak when sitting.  Gauges all work except temp.(rallye gauges) The paint job is about a year old but is very amateur. It needs to be repainted unless you were literally just wanting a driver. From 20 feet I guess it looks good. The car was burnt orange on burnt orange, and now the car is yellow with half burnt orange interior/half black. Interior needs work. Car has rallye wheels and new tires. Grill is very nice, hood is good. There is some rust on inside upper decklid. Only sheet metal i would replace is the trunk pan. It's still in decent shape, but does have some holes in it. Could this car be driven home 500 miles? I was told I could when i bought it, but i chose to trailer it. I have put about 50 miles on it on the highway. I will make no guarantees, but you are welcome to try it. Car still has fender tag on car, and I have a clear title in hand in my name. You won't find a better project car that you can drive while you tinker with it. This is the cheapest running driving 70 roadrunner you will find, with a solid frame front to back. This car will be sold as is where is, no warranties. Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. 3rd party or personal inspections are welcome before bidding and BEFORE end of auction. Please ask with any questions. This car is being sold with a very low reserve and BIN and i am sure this car will sell. Please serious bidders only. I reserve the right to end this auction early at any time for any reason, as car is for sale locally. Thanks for looking and good luck! NOTE: Please see link below for a short clip of the car running.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
