Description:
You are bidding on a 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe P18 2 Door. Clear North Carolina title
I do not know much about this cars previous history. It looks to have been an older restoration.

The Engine runs fantastic, very smooth, no smoke. 6 volt system.
The generator was just repaired by D&L electric in Monroe, NC.
New voltage regulator, and start solenoid. New Battery.

Transmission is a 3 speed manual on the column. There has been overdrive added from an early 50s model. The overdrive is not currently working. The cable seems to be stuck.

New wheel seals, wheel cylinders, shoes hardware and pinion seal. The Carb also has been rebuilt.

New Coker white wall tires.

The interior is complete, without any rips. The seats, armrests, and carpet are navy blue. The door panels and headliner are white. There is some stains.
The dash is in mint condition and all gauges and lights work. the horn and wipers work also.

This car does have heat and defrost. It has a flip up vent on the cowl panel for cool air flow. This car stays comfortable on hot days also.

All headlights, turn signals and brake lights work. Also has a courtesy light when the passenger door is opened.

From what I can tell its all original metal, and one very small patch was done in the floors near the driver floor the firewall.
There is no rust in this car other than minor surface rust where some paint has chipped.

Imperfections:
There is some minor oil leaks, and the back half of the exhaust has some holes. (the exhaust sounds fine, doesn't sound like a leaky exhaust)
The original am radio is not currently working.

The paint is old, and looks good 5 feet away.
The chrome is nice, but not perfect.
The driver door is missing the "stopper hinge" that keeps it from opening too far.
There is a key for the drivers door, and ignition. The glovebox, trunk, and passenger door to not have a matching key.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
