Up for auction is my 1970 Plymouth Hemi GTX. No expense has been spared in this ground up restoration. Almost everything on the car is either new or been restored. I will try to list as much as I can: The GTX was originally a factory Burnt orange 440 car and I do not have the original engine. A new factory 426 Hemi crate engine from Mopar Performance was installed about 3 years ago and runs strong. It has two Edelbrock 600 carbs with aluminum intake and linkage package from Mancini Racing. All pulleys, brackets, lines, belts, and hoses are new. New Hemi air cleaner with decal, new exhaust manifolds with Flowmaster 40's run out back with chrome tips, new Champion aluminum radiator keeps it cool. Automatic on factory column, 8 3/4 rearend has 489 housing with 3.23 gears and new Auburn positive unit helps it cruise down highway and ride smoothly. It has a Hemi K-frame, factory heavy-duty suspension and large drum brakes all around. New master cylinder, gas tank, chrome bumpers, grille, emblems, side markers, taillights, bezels, and front and rear turn signal lights. The body has a new black vinyl top and the trim is new or replaced. Many GTX pieces are hard to find and expensive. Interior has been put back original burnt orange with new Legendary seat covers, door panels, carpet, headliner, armrest, trunk mat, new gauge faces and new Tic-Toc-Tac all from Yearone. The fender tag is missing, however, the vin matches the radiator support and trunk lip. This is a true GTX, not a cloned Satellite. The paint has a few small nicks or scratch, but overall nice and shows well. Wipers do not work. Wheels are Foose Legend 18s with Nitto tires. There's no warranty expressed or implied. This car gets attention wherever it goes, gets many thumbs up and sounds great! I would not classify it as a show car, but has won many awards at local shows. Now you can experience being swarmed by people looking at the ONLY Hemi car at your local show or cruise-in! Good luck bidding!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
