The restore on this car was just finished.  It came out of the paint shop less than a month ago and the tint shop last weekend.  It was painted with Kustom Kreations "Hot Rod Satin Black."  As you can see in the pictures and videos it is a beautiful car.  The lines are straight and there is NO RUST on the body that I know of.  I've been driving it for a few days now with the new paint and it gets lots of attention.  People see Mustangs and Camaros all the time, but they don't see anything like this, so I get a lot of questions.  I encourage anyone interested to come take it for a spin and watch the heads turn.  If you don't get a few thumbs up and honks I'll give it to you. 


The engine was removed from the car and rebuilt.  I have pictures of the engine out and the car in the paint shop if wanted.  It has a four barrel Edlebrock carb, Edlebrock intake manifold, new plugs and wires, new distributor, new fuel filter and lines, new master cylinder, brakes redone with new lines and adjusted, new exhaust with new "cherry bomb" mufflers, new gas tank filler tube and sending unit, 17" rims with four new matching Michelin tires and an unused spare.  All four original hub caps are in the trunk and included.  This car LOOKS GOOD, SOUNDS GOOD, RUNS GOOD, and DRIVES GOOD.  I would drive it anywhere and if you want to fly in and drive it home hundreds of miles you can.


All the head lights, tail lights, blinkers, interior lights work as they should with the exception of the little hood  All of the gauges work.  I unplugged the speedometer because the spindle thing that counts the miles came off it's track and it makes an annoying noise and I'm not sure how to realign it.  There is some rust in the floor pans, but very little on the frame which is strong and sturdy and not bent anywhere or showing signs of any accidents.  It will need a new headliner.  With a little love it could easily be a show car, or it can continue to be an excellent driver.  The car drives straight and smoothly down the road.  The power steering works great.  The heater works great and it even has vents in the rear. 


Feel free to contact me for more info or to schedule a time to come see it and drive it.  Of course I encourage anyone interested to inspect the car in person, but if you aren't able to do so I am attempting to add three videos and about 40 high resolution pictures.  I don't have a lift to be able to get good pics from underneath.  Also, I noticed the alternator was making a whining noise today when we took the videos so I ordered a brand new one and will put it on before the end of the auction.  I have two black and chrome cross emblems I really wanted to put in place of the emblems by the back windows but my dad talked me out of it so I will include them as well.  I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but I've done my best to describe everything accurately.  I'm sure whoever gets her will love her and I hope she gets a loving home. :)  Just in case you can't see the videos here in the listing I am posting links to all three below.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
