On Oct-22-13 at 09:21:15 PDT, seller added the following information:

We started with this low mile Sport Fury with the intent of doing an original restoration. But decided to go resto mod theme with the shaved side trim and metallic paint.

We planned on painting the other trim and Sport Fury emblems black for a monochromatic hot rod look. We have acquired an extra set of trim and emblems to go back to stock if desired.

All of the trim and emblems original to this car and the extra sets of original trim and emblems will be included. See pictures. We have a lot of extras, trim, etc... for this car included.

What we did not finish is painting the floors, door jams, and trunk floor, then installing the door panels and armrests along with the trim. Door panels, armrests, trim, and paint kit is included..

Carpet w/padding, is not included but is available in choice of color here on Ebay. The trunk lid underside and gutter were painted and new weather strip and jack and rear decals installed.

All the brakes were rebuilt with new shoes, springs, cables, and wheel cylinders. The front brakes have new drums, and brake lines. installed also. The car stops on a dime.

The drive train is all original to this car. 383 Commando Motor 290 HP Holley 2 bbl.   727 torqueflite automatic transmission.  8 3/4 sure grip rear end.

The motor runs great and sounds awesome . The transmission shifts great.  The car drives great, power steering and power brakes are a pleasure, working nicely.

We also have Centerline Auto Drag rims 10" rears with exact backset for this car, and 7" front rims. With Hankook and Douglas performance tires.

The Centerline rims and tires will be offered at cost to the winning bidder. But not included in this auction. The Reserve is set way below the value of this car and the extras already included.

Bid to win this Mopar Musclecar. This car will run with any stock B Body car, and the 2" extra wheel base provides better weight transfer and stability. Not to mention less cost.

Get the looks without the cost. Good Luck!

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
