Nice Classic 1965 Plymouth Fury III 2 Dr hardtop coupe. 318 and 3 speed auto trans. Runs, drives, and sounds great. All original matching numbers. I have a clean title in hand. Has a good bit of rust in places, on the rear qtr panels behind tires, just below the rear glass, and most of the trunk floor. Other than that car is straight, and has most original trim and mouldings, etc.  I Do Not have original wheels on it but I do have original hubcaps.   It is missing some emblems the "III" on the fender and trunk. Has factory AC and it does blow but not cold. Pretty good condition other than sheetmetal rust. All it needs to be inspected and road ready again is a windshield wiper motor from what I can tell. The shift linkage needs to be adjusted it wont completely lock into park, and the power steering pump is also leaking.   I have no idea how many miles the car has but I would bet its not many because it runs so good.  Also, the reason I have started the bidding so cheap NO RESERVE is because I have busted the drivers side window completely out when I shut the door after taking the car up the road to the convenience store a couple days ago....   I was given this car to repay for a 5K loan that he wasn't able to pay me back for.  I know I probably wont get that but there is NO RESERVE on this auction and it goes to the high bidder, I have nowhere to put it and its killing my nice grass.  Can be a daily driver with a little love, or will make an excellent restoration car. Sweet Bad to the Bone ride! Crank her up and you will love it!   I would love to keep this car and fix it up but I already have 3 project cars going and just do not have room for this car at my house or shop.
If bought locally you could drive this car home, but it does need tags and inspection sticker
I will be willing to help with shipping arrangements if bought out of state.  But buyer will pay all shipping costs.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
