See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"the interior is by far one of the nicest original condition interiors on the world market today, as far as the matching numbers drivetrain goes... this car is one of the best driving dusters in existence. it runs smooth down the highway. the air blows cold..... the car was painted by the first owners grandson and looks fantastic. By far, at this price, this is one of the nicest 1974 Dusters around."

I found this car sitting in a private garage of a very informed collector last year. He had several top notch Plymouths in his collection. I asked how he bought the car... He told me he got it from the grandson of the original owner. He told me that the car was to his knowledge a true 37k original mile car. The grandson had painted the car when he inherited the car.  Although I cant sell it as an original mile car because of state of Illinois laws, I can say one thing, this drivetrain is incredible and I have NEVER drove a Duster that handles like this one. I had no questions and bought it right on the spot. I have taken it to my top mechanic, and we inspected it and found that someone had invested a lot of money in this car.  Some of the new parts includes...all suspension, shocks, ball joints, bushings, after market sway bar... All new seals in the transmission, front seal, an gasket, filter, shift shaft seals...we believe the interior to be original and in the best shape original interior could ever be.....The carpet must have been dyed at one time because it looks as if it is brand new.....This car handles incredibly and not as you would expect a car of this age to drive. I would have no problem getting in it and taking off to California. This is a real AIR car, and the air blows cold.  You can tell it has spent most of its life cared for and garaged beautifully.  I have only had it for a year and only have taken it to shows.  It turns heads at every street corner I stop at. The only reason I am selling it, is I found a 1971 true 440 GTX that I am going to rebuild, and it will take me everything I have to make that a 100k car. The BF Goodrich Radial TA tires are in great shape and so are the rally wheels. The trunk is cleaner than my girlfriends 2012 truck. For the collector that has been searching for a true classic that could be used as both a daily driver, or something to take to the weekend shows. At the price I am selling it, you will be very hard pressed to find one nicer. I can assist in national and  international shipping.  Cash or bank wire only. Clear Title. Please feel free to call me if you have questions and are interested in purchasing and I will get back with you as soon as possible or call 618-567-6785.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
