performance: 1971 440 HP conversion with only a few thousand miles since rebuild 10.1 compression 906 heads .509 purple shaft cam street dominatior intake 750 dbl pumper carb schumaker shorty headers schumaker motor mounts 2.5 in exhaust with cutouts fresh 727 transmission with reverse manual valve body 8 inch converter, 4000 stall i believe 8 3/4 rear end with 3.91 gears new aluminum radiator b&m ratchet shifter i have never had it to the track but the guy i bought it off of said it ran low to mid 11s with slicks exterior: great looking plum crazy purple paint weld wheels with skinnies up front (tread is good but better up front obviously haha) great rust free body with the exception of spare tire well there is a hole about the size of a dime. **** there were two minor dents on the passenger side so i had them professionally fixed and the entire passenger side of the car was reshot, exterior looks amaizing now, no flaws at all interior: luxury bench seat all black no heat or ac (heater box included if you want it) triple gage pod new 5" shift light tach, cant get it to work right though the bad: dash pad started to warp this year nothing serious rip on top of back seat one of the rear side windows has some pitting i think its from sparks hitting it while grinding, also barely noticeable had a spoiler that one pedistal broke so now has the holes plugged, spoiler included small oil leak that I have not found yet with exception of those couple little problems this car is an absolute monster. it can shred tires through all 3 gears. starts right up and runs great. never had any issues since the overhaul. Car is in Columbus Ohio. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping. Contact me if you have any questions or want more pics. Thanks! |

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
