1973 Plymouth Duster 340 5.6l on 2040-cars
Oldsmar, Florida, United States
The price is $12000 OBO. CASH TALKS! 12k is WITH all my spare parts, both sets of wheels etc listed below. Any questions please ask.
1973 Plymouth 340 Duster. This is a REAL 340 matching numbers car. Automatic 727 torqueflite trans (factory optioned 727 not a 904). 8 1/4 rear end (not the small 7 1/4) with low gears (I believe them to be 3.91s with a sure-grip). This car is in great shape and solid. It runs down the road great, drives great, and has good power. Trans shifts great and barks second. I drove it down to FL from NH so it is a great driver. Only selling due to money issues. Does not overheat, or get hot. Brakes work well. The engine is painted red, and has a chrome oil pan. The motor runs great and doesnt burn oil so I would assume it has been rebuilt at some point in its life. It has a small cam (i dont have specs but you can hear it when it idles). It is the numbers matching motor. This is console/bucket seat, a/c car. Console/stock shifter are not installed at this time but it comes with both of them. The ac and power steering has been removed, but I have the parts in boxes. I also have the original valve covers and air cleaner (has chrome ones installed now), and the stock ralley wheels with good bfgoodrich tires on them. Has a B&M quiksilver shifter installed. It has aftermarket 15" wheels installed on it now(black wheels pictured). New alpine headunit installed with cd player and has aftermarket speakers (works and sounds great). Very little wrong with the car. A few small bubbles in the paint on the rear quarters, and the drivers seat has split some of the seams. Feel free to email me or call me with questions but nothing after 9pm or before 9am please and thank you. My number is 850-31three-nInE97one. I can deliver the car within a reasonable distance (must be paid for in advance though). I also have a few performance parts to go with it (I was collecting them to build it up some). A nice unported edelbrock air gap intake, flowtech coated headers (New in box), poly bushings for the front end (New in box), subframe connectors(New in box), a 8 3/4 rear end with a 3.55 chunk/posi (freshly rebuilt chunk) and fresh green bearing axles that needs assembly, and 2 electric cutouts (New in box). Car is for sale locally as well. I am looking for an srt4 neon. Mopar, 340, duster, dart, demon, scamp, valiant, plymouth, dodge, chrysler, small block, hot rod, muscle car, challenger, gto, cuda, barracuda, 727, srt4, srt-4 |

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]
Mon, 16 Jun 2014
We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars
Wed, 30 Jul 2014The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars
Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
